I was just wondering because we recently has a huge ars storm and the street were totally flooded, I mean like 6inches in some spots(hey, its phx, thats a lot) which I had to drive through to get home like 5 or 6 miles. I made it just fine thank god.
Anyway, it seems that the hydro lock isnt really that much of an issue unless the filter gets submerged all the way...which would in my case mean water up to my door...has anyone actually hydro locked with the cai?

it really is hard to hydrolock the car... since when you suck if the filter is partially exposed to air it'll suck mostly air and not water... so in order to hydrolock it would have to suck a good amount of water (50-100ml) out of a submerged (completely) filter. I still dont have it on my car though... The dealer gives me enough problems as it is and my car is always there for everything from oil changes to engine changes.

.......i did !! ........i did !!

(at least thats what the dealer told me and that the clattering sound i was hearing was a bent rod from hydrolocking cylinder one...... and they swapped me a new engine about 8 months ago)

why would they give you a new engine for a bent rod, wouldn't they just replace the rod.

I hydrolocked my stock B18C1 when I was driving through 2 feet of water with my AEM CAI, I was stupid and cracked the wall on cylinder #3. If you have CAI its best to get the water bypass thingy.
