I've had 2 motors blow on me, the 1st had 12k on it the second had6k on it and the one in my car now, whenever i crank it, it sounds like total hell, sounds like it's gonna blow, but like 5-10 seconds later it stops, does it everytime i crank it after it has been sitting for more than about 5 minutes.
Also i'm not sure but after it has been sitting for awhile, like 5 hours whenever i turn the steering wheel, it whines at me i asume it's the power steering.
My clutch feels like **** going into 2nd, & 4th gears and when i down shift into 1st it grinds unless i'm stopped.
My paint is also chipping off the back bumper.
What else,... oh not a big thing but the floor mat is ****ing pissing me off it keeps shifting to the left curling up under the clutch.
This will be the last Toyota i buy!!

so it's basically your clutch slipping and 2nd/4th gear synchroes grinding? that's more your fault than the transmissions...although if it makes you feel better, it's well know that the C60 tranny seems to be very PMS-y and sensitive.

Well most that own the Celica wouldn't have blown their engine in the first place had they known how to drive stick.

The mats slipping? You could be missing that plastic hook piece that is to hold the mat in place. Did you check that?

Ever think you got a lemon or bad parts?

My family and I have owned tons of Toyotas. I'm talking 4Runner, Corollas, Celica, etc. And they have proven to be very reliable and easy to work with. I do all the work on them and I haven't run into anything like you have.

Don't shun off the entire make if you only had one!

OMG, if EVERYONE would use this line of thinking with ANY domestic, we might actually have some intelligent conversations when it comes to Fords and F-bodies.

Grinding in 1st is normal. you have to be almost stopped in any manual car to stick it in 1st without grinding.

I had the same problem with the floor mats. They would rotate around the post/hock and messed with the pedals. I took out the floor mats because it caused a problem once.

The paint seems thin. I have less chips in my 10 year old Mustang then my Celica.

Ther rest of your problems stem from the mis shift and the dealer probably not putting it back together right.

I would say I dough I would buy another Toyota if my Celica had that much trouble.

I have been lucky. I only have one deep stone chip high on my bumper.

Yeah, that's treating the car real well. That is the root of all your problems (except the floor mat). I guess Toyota and the dealership didn't feel like paying $10,000+ to proprely fix driver error. At least they gave some attempt, but in the end, you know it's your fault.

Umm...I guess you think that no other car manufacturer has made cars that aren't perfect. Of course there are those certain cars out of the factory that are messed up. You obviously got one. As far as the tranny and engine go...sounds like you need to learn how to drive.

Hell...

My car's engine went on it too...but when I raced the sucker, I RACED the sucker.

I love my car, and I thank god that the mechanic that worked on it, knew what the hell what he was doing.

That's the problem, it's not the car's fault, it's the damn mechanic that put your engine back together.

Mike LeGrande made my car better than new, simply awesome job, and I treat my car with a little more respect (although I've always give her that).

Maybe you should take it to a Certified Master Mechanic...

Or learn how to drive?
