i have never had a problem with my tranny. you have to be smooth. either that or rev match between shifts.

I power shift all the time... at least 5-6 times a day...

I've yet to have a problem with my tranny or my clutch...just gotta know what you're doing...

I didn't know power shifting took skill. I thought it was just keep your fot on the gas while you shift?

When you are powershifting, don't floor it to the floor while shifting, that'll just spin the tires at 2nd. half gas it or 3/4 gas it while shifting, which is enough for GT-S. If you drive a slower car, then you can full throttle while shifting.

I've done this a lot, at least when I race and it pulls out of the hole instantly. Haha, just like today, a V6 camaro tried to race me without any warning, he peels out, I didn't but I still burn him by just powershifting to 2nd, I got an instant 1 car on him by the end of 2nd gear.

well my definition of powershifting is shifting fast, slamming all the gears, no sliping of the clutch. slam foot on clutch, just as fast as you taking it off gas, through the gear in, slam gas at same speed you are removing foot from clutch and so on......thas powershifting.

doesnt matter if you know what you are doing or not. i blew my tranny power shifting and had to get the whole tranny replaced..i would have to say just practice normally and you will get better at it. power shifting are for girls..

Lots of 'kills this...kills that', but no real explanation.

Why would you want your RPMs to drop down so much between shifts? Ideally, you would keep throttle open enough so that when you engage the clutch, your rpm would be matched perfectly to the gear. If you let your foot off completely, that's not going to happen.

I agree. I almost always power shifted when I had my corolla. I had no problems. But I didn't have the foot to the floor. I sorta did RPM match. reason I say sorta was my corolla didn't have a tach .. lol.

I think we all have differnent "ideas" on what powershifting is!

Where I am from Powershifting means shifting without using the clutch. You let off the gas a little bit, slam it into the next gear with no clutch...bang, your off again.

Worth the .2 secs it takes off your 1/4 mile time....1000% no in my eyes..I love my tranny to much. :)
