Good place to tap +12v for gauges

I want to put my gauges in this weekend but haven't been under the dash looking for a place to tap 12V. I want some wire that is ignition controled (not always on), but don't want some critical wire (like the ignition wire), long story behind that :( Gonna hook the light bulb wires to the cigarette lighter bulb for DRL lighting.

Any suggestions? Comments?

get a "make a circuit" kit from an auto store, and tap into the cig lighter fuse. that way you don't have to unhook all the power wires when you want to disassemble the shifter trim

try the + side of the clock, maybe that would work. i hardwired my radar there.

lots lots of available power in the fuse box...
