car almost stalling

this has happened to me before but i didnt really think much of it before... well my gas light came on so i was on my way to the gas station.... the light has been on for about 5 minutes now... and when my car isnt in gear and idling my rev's drop down to the point where it seems like my car is going to stall... and then it shoots back up again and drops back down.. until i rev my car.. it did that before when i have gas in my tank too.... i was wondering if this has happend to u guys before and how u fixed it

yeah it happens to me too....glad to hear its not just me, so is it normal?? Or is there a way to fix it?

Me too. My car (GT) drops down to 500 RPM or lower sometimes, but never actually stalls.

It only happens to me only when the weather outside is good (70 degrees and with low humidity). I think it is because the way the fuel is mapped.

yea happened to me too..but now yesterday my gas light came on at 1/4 of a tank and i went to fill up my tank to full and the light is still on..this happen to any of u guys? u know how i can get rid of the gas light?

mine did that just the other day. It happens occasionally. dont know why tho. mine actually stalled once, it was full of gas at the time. I'd be curious to know what causes this also.

Keep posting guys it could be a problem with the engine. People that have XRS Matrix are getting the same issue. car idling at 500-1200 and back and forth and then stalling out or sometimes putting the clutch in and the engine cuts out.

Since the engine is the same a fix for one would help the other.

nah, this is normal. My car does it once in a blue moon. Never stalled though.

Mine's never done it (3 years, 50,000 miles), though I don't have an aftermarket intake...
