WalMart neon lights!!

Anybody bought the 10" neon lights that WalMart is selling for $10. If you did, got any pics and how you like them? I am not familiar with neon lights. Planning to get some for my trunk, but want to know if they are any good. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Street glow are better ;) As far as neons go, you get what you pay for. I'm not sure which ones are sold at Walmart, but if they are $10 they are not going to be that bright, and there's a good chance that they will be uneven compared to others of the same brand.

I halfway beg to differ. Several people have told me my Autozone brand neons are brighter than their Street glows...and I paid $20 for my 15"s.

Try em out man, it'll only cost ya $20.

Yeah I had the cheapass Pep Boys neons and they were way more durable and brighter than Street Glow. I had a set of Street Glow and they were fricking pathetic. They weren't that bright, one of them cracked on the inside without any impact, and the plastic ends came off right out of the package. (i'm pretty sure they wreen't supposed to...)

The cheapo ones are okay for the interior. But I wouldn't use them on the exterior. The average neon just isn't bright enough.

we just got those in my walmart in daytona. i havent had a chance to buy any yet because they sell out so fast!!

Hey guys,
I just bought the red neon light from WalMart. It is called "54 studio." It stays lighted on or you can make it beat to the music. Here are some pics (they are brighter in person than the pics show):

I have them installed and wired to a switch. They look awesome. They are pretty bright under my dash as well. I got blue. Not a bad $30 install with the lighted switch.

My bro has them and they are really bright. He has it set to beat with the musioc and its tight. We put it under the dash like Clone has. He has a 96 Eclipse.

I have two of them wired with a switch. They are really bright. There's a switch on it where you can set it to bump to the music or just light up.

Nothing wrong with these walmart neons in the interior. I have a couple, and they kinda look a bit warpy, but they work very well and are bright inside the footwells. SO if it is in the interior, it doesn't matter!

You just plug it in and it does it automatically. However, they only beat to the music when it is not too loud. It'll even beat to voices. When you turn the music up it remains constant and does not beat to the music. As for rumors of them cheap and possible not bright enough, i had one blue 10" and i got a $90 ticket the first ngiht i put it in. The cop said my car was lit up like a Christmas tree. Any other questions?

dsquared just put a set in his footwells last night, with matrixguy707's help. Looks damned good, and more than bright enough for the interior. A good way to spend $10 each side if you ask me. ;)

how did you guys wire them with a switch......damn I got no more room to put another switch in I already have four well I guess I would have to drill into the frame, I might be able to rig something up without having to do that.:wtf:

Easy...just find a mini fuse tap. I believe radio shack should have them. If not you can buy the full size ones and shave down the end. Then buy some quick disconnects. Attach the fuse tap to the cig lighter fuse. Attach the power wires to the quick disconnect and attach the disconnect to the fuse tap. Then find a ground and ground wire. When ever your car is on it will light up. You can put a switch if you want. I chose the ground wire to put a switch on. If you have any other q's you can pm me

What ever you do, just don't drive aroud with neon on....
Asking for trouble with cops.... as long as you are parked in the parking lot.. then do what ever you like..

We wired a 12v l blue lighted switch in dsquared's dead panel. Took a while to dremel the hold for that rocker switch but we finally got it in there!

Cut off the lighter plugs and wire it up. I would highly suggest getting an inline fuse for the two neons though we never did it for Dsquared's car :D
