great products, pricing is high, unless you got a hookup. but you get what you pay for. JL is the shizzy man.
i just bought the new 10" w6 V2 last night, dirt cheap too. :p

Only place to get a JL 12W6v2 for cheap is eBay or if you are really good friends with an authorized JL reseller. JL is being a bitch about pricing on the W6v2s and the W7s. I was fortunate enough to get 2 12W6v2s at a great price. Most places sell them for $459, which is MSRP. Bastards!
$200 is way too much JL 12W3. $100 - $125 is more reasonable.

I have been running JL Audio subs and PPI amps for about ten years. As a former pro installer, I recommend JL Audio subs above all others. I currently have 3 10W6's in a fiberglass box in the spare tire well and push them with a Precision Power 2150.

it's funny, cuz what you got is old stuff, but it's still really, really good quality.

jls are good...and zcs said it right "you get what you pay for" yes it is true that jl is bitchy about the prices....and one who has a jl account is not allowed to slash the price on them unless jl releases a sale price and thats all they can use....the only thing i can say is that the cheapest price youcan find is probably on ebay or some where on line......but.....and this may be important....jl is soo touchy about their stuff that they will not warrenty any products bought online,,,no ebay...no yahoo...no internet whole salers....and i dunno about you but if i got a so called "new" w3 or 6 and it blows a month later and jl refused to replace it...i would be pissed!!!! your better off going through a retailer for that reason atleast....just check every big and little audio store in your area and basically get price checks..btw people on ebay will say that their jls are still under warrenty..but jl WILL NOT HONOR IT IF IT WAS ONLINE...so they are basically lying cuz it sounds good

jls are good, i have had problems with the dust cap rattling...doesn't look loose, but you can hear something when you hit it hard...maybe I am just blowing them, i dono, i have already replaced one under warranty, and i think the same one is making that damn sound again, but other than that, very reliable subs!

I too had a problem with a rattling dust cap on my old JL 12W6 sub. Sent it back and JL sent me a brand new one. After that I had no problems with the sub. Had the new Jl 12W6v2s not came out, I would have never sold it.

how does (1) 10w6v2 sound in our car? does it hit pretty hard? i want a sub but i want to keep my trunk space as well and i don't want to get one that has a box that takes up half the trunk. i have a 5 channel Hifonics amp already installed running my components and coaxials and the sub channel carries 250wrms if i'm not mistaken.

If you setup the box correctly (sealed, not ported would be my recommendation), with the correct volume as state on the JL website, it will sound VERY good!
I have one JL 12W3 (not the v2 version) and it sounds GREAT!:

i used to have 3 8W3s in my last car (98 maxima)... those things punched incredibly deep... not like earth shattering sloppy bass, but more refined i'm choking and cant breath bass)... they went well and did their job phenominally complementing the MB Quart Qs

I have a 12W6v2 with a JL 500/1 amp and I must say it hits hard. The bass is very clean and tight. I just need to dynamat my car to cut down on the rattlind.
