I finally changed my gearbox fluid a couple of weeks ago (38,000 miles). And now my gears are starting ti grind when i downshift from 3rd to 2nd..and inly when i down shift. Is it a syncro on the 3rd or 2nd gear. Also how much does it usually cost to fix?? If Irev match there is no grind but if I just shift hard there is a small grind that lasts about a second. I now have 40,000 miles and i'm uncertain about going to the dealer because I know they'll try tp blame my khumo bushings or act clutch...

Your second gear synchro is going bad. Get it look at. It will need to be replaced. If it keeps grinding the shavings can wear out your other synchros/gears sooner as well. So just take it in.

Yikes!!! It's gray? That means serious tranny problems (ie lots of ground up metal).
There must be an inherent problem with high winding motors and grinding gears/failing syncros. I can't count how many times I've read about this grinding problem with the GT-S. However, I've the same thing said about the 99+ Civic Si and ITR/GSR. All I can think is the syncros just can't mesh under massive rpms.

Yeah, they'll try to blame the ACT clutch.....non-Toyota part....
