Hello,

I am posting this thread to see if there would be any interest from the Celica crowd in joining the CVN'ers at Lime Rock Park next year. Plans have been discussed within inner circles @ CVN about renting out the park for a day. Costs would be substantially minimized for all parties concerned when there are more people interested in attending. Costs are still being worked out and would be dependant on the number of members participating. Let me know if this sparks anyone's interest. I also plan on inviting the Maxima.org crowd.

kevan you know you're gonna chicken out, so dont even bother getting excited. i dont think they'll let you on the track anyway, for other people's safety..

you ask some silly questions.

lime rock is a road course in connecticut. if you go to the link dave provided, you'll find more info. i am guessing X people would be on the track. no passing unless in the straightaway. i believe if anything happens to your car on the track it wont be covered under warranty. and no insurance will cover any damage. this is what i believe. you could check for yourself.

risky expensive fun.

If you rent out the track you'll be the only ones on it so you decide how you want people to run around the track. In a group, one at a time scattered start etc...This is at least what i've heard

Don't worry about looking at your work schedule just yet. This would not be until next year sometime.

Actually it is not a Celica Meet at all...This is being planned for the members of CVN, and we are extending an invitation to all of you to join us there. I have met several people off of this board and enjoyed their company when I have attended your meets, so I wanted to take this opportunity to extend the favor back to you all.

Over at CVN, about 2 years ago we really got tired of doing the old eat and stare at the cars kind of meets, now we really attend for the people. Lately we have really pulled away from the traditional meet perspective, we had a mini-golf contest @ Kimballs in Littleton, MA, complete with prizes, Convoys to tours in St. Thomas Ontario, Canada, Bud Plant tours, Expos, Car shows (new and classic), basically anything that involves the people more. But make no mistake, most of us have known each other for quite sometime, and there is one constant at all of our meets, and that is cruising. We have driven at least an hour at every meet together, not to mention 1500 miles together out to St. Thomas. This means we know each other's driving habbits quite well, and with constant car-to-car communication, it makes for some interesting driving. I heard it best when it was said, if you can't play with the big guys, dont...cuz hypothetically in this case, we are driving tanks (stop slower than you, weigh about 1,750 lbs more, not quite as nimble) compared to your tricycles (nimble, lightweight, quick, agile). You don't want to cut in where someone may not be expecting you unless they give you the okay, cuz we don't want any celica sandwiches :) BTW most of these guys are cops, which means they drive to a different level, IE late braker, or no brakes :))

So the breakdown of participants will most likely be CV's accounting for more than 75% of the cars, with you guys coming along with some Mustangs, and even vintage Corvettes.

All are welcome. I will set up an email account where you can all send your information, please watch for that notification.
