How long do un-used competition tires last?

Like the subject said. If they were just sitting in my garage, unmounted on the floor, will there be any adverse effects to them from sitting un-used for up to six months?

6 months in LA and they should be fine (so long as all the ozone in the air doesn't kill them).

I'd be more concerned if you were storing them in a garage in the north where they would get heat cycled repeatedly.
