u have to much air in them . i think the celica should be 29-30 psi cold. or it could be the lowering check yur camber

I think most people with the stock Yoko's had this problem. My center tread was gone after about 9000 miles. I dunno what is the cause, I used 30 psi all the way around in mine.

i have 8000 miles on my car.........i know 32/30 is not even alot for tire press and shoudnt cause faster wear on the inside of the tires , like it is doing.
right now i lowered it to 30/28......and should be ordering some kumhos soon.:(
any solutions??

I was wondering that too. I have about 16k miles on my tires. 32psi is what Toyota recommends for the stock yokohama's.

I had mine at just at or under 30psi all around. They had 20,000 miles when I traded it in and they still had about 1/2 the tread. Same deal with my 2nd Celica. Bought with 10,000 miles, put another 10,000 on and still had about 1/2 the tread.

Is it the middle of the tire or the inside of the tire? If it is the inside you are either toeing out on all tires or because of the drop in hieght the camber went way negative and the inside of the tires are wearing because of the majority of the wieght are now on the insides of the tires and not the middle. If the middle is wearing too fast you are either over inflating the tires or the tires have a defect. Hope this helps

its the middle of the tires....... my toe is fine from a recent alignment...... if theres s defect with the tires , cause as from the replys others have the same problem too. Then how can i go by to toyota and try to adress the defect, i know thier going to blame my car being lowered so i dont know if i'm going to even watse my time , but if enough ppl have this problems then maybe we can do something about it......i just hate to watse $ on getting new tires after 8000 miles.

11K miles and no center tread left at all. I run 30 psi.

bottom line, the tires just suck ass.

actually they can put a tire expecting it to last 15K... they're summer tires.. .hehe.. you shouldnt be using them in winter.

PS. 10k and middle treat is gone... it might be that the tire is too wide for the rim so its bubbling out a bit.. dunno though its pretty std. 6.5" rim...

My middles were shot at 23k......digitally checked at 32.0 psi the entire time.

And the tires should be fine for the rim......205s are the staple size for 6.5" rims.

The only thing I could think would have been the type of mileage. Mine was mostly highway, so maybe because it was always at high speed, centripital force was throwing the middles out just enough for that to be the area that got most of the friction. You know, kinda like a dragster tire.

Dunno, just a guess......but either way, they wear fast and SUCK IN THE WINTER!!!!

Yeah, Don't even THINK about using these tires for winter driving if you get any snow at all. It's just "sit and spin".
