View Full Version : *sigh* i think my indiglos are dying!!
FAKK!!!!
my ac autotechnic reverse indiglo's are like freakin dying on me or something!!! Like they werent turning on, or like they'd struggle to get to full brightness. i checked the coords and crap and they are fine. i event plugged in my old normal indiglo's to check out if it was ok... everyone was fine with that one.
u can like hear the guages like all BUZZING and stuff!! And u know that button to change the colors/brighness of the guages? WHen i pressed them, each color made its own pitch and u can hear it like flickering and sh1t...
hell, i was even messing with the button and i could see small sparks in between the controller membrain and the coord going to that black box!!!
has this happen to anyone else? if so, how long do i have before it sh1ts itself?
dammit, i dont wanna have to payf or new reverese indiglos! i'm already poor as is!!

ya the same thing happened to mine as soon as i bought them... i sent them back to coolcelica, was told that i did a faulty install... and never bothered with the idea again... $65 down the drain. the damn things kept sparking on me. oh well! better than burning my $600 dash.
how was it a "faulty install?"
i've had the guages for like almost half a year now and this has never happened before... :[

I couldn't get mine to ground out very well. I'd be touching it to an 8 gauge ground wire and it wouldn't want to turn on.
Try regrounding it.....

most of the time it's the inverter. it happened to me and i wentout and got a new inverter with the turn knob. I got it at MBautosport or something like that. I went to their shop and they hook me up for $10. i think it is like $16 on their web site. It's called something like universal inverter. If it is not the inverter (black box), then it is probably the gauge. There is warranty on the GAUGE, but not on the inverter. Where did you get it from Eddie? Try getting a new one from where you boght it from. (: (That's if you still have your reciept) :headbang:
I'm on my 2nd set of guages. The inverter went out on the first set I had, but the guages themselves were still good when hooked up to a new inverter.
If you like the guages, shop around and see if you can just buy the inverter by it's self.

I bet you that BUZZING sound is from the gauge itself, listen closely. Mines went out after 2 months, just flickered, then didnt even flickered. Cheap ass product.
It is the way you install the gauges. The one thing that you should keep in mind is to make sure that the little black stub sticking out on the gauge is not touching anything at all. Make sure that it's not bent either or else the circuit will break. It had happened to me and I actually saw sparks coming from the little black stub. One thing that you could do is to cut out a piece on the black bezel to make sure that the little black stub is not touching anything.

They are nice when you purchase... but when I have problem with it.. just won't do nothing about it..
Didn't tell me anything else then just the website... like I don't know that.....
I would just say.. don't buy from coolcelica....
