I have a after market bolt on exhaust..
If I cut the resonator and replace it with a regular pipe, then does exhausts get louder?
answer only if u did it, and 100%sure about your answer..
thank you..

after the header
theres the cat
and then a silencer
then your aftermarket exhaust
if you are talking about removing the silencer then (obviously) it will be louder

I know that..
I just came back from a muffler shop.. and the mechnic told me that he can cut the silencer(resonator) off and weld it with plain pipe... but he said it's not worth it.. there were about 100 people did it and they all said there is no difference..
so I want to ask somebody who really done it on celica gts by following setup:
1. Leave cat. converter(since there is sensor, and it's against federal law to remove it)
2. removed resonator (replace with plain pipe)
3. after market exhaust
