Hey guys, I want to get HIDs for my Celica and was wondering if I can just get the 03 HIDs and put them in my 01 Celica? Anyone look into this yet and see how/where the HID ballasts are installed in the new 03s?

yes they would work...but you'd be paying an arm and a leg....i'm running a group buy on a HID kit that i've installed and it's very good quality...PHILLIPS HIDS...here's the link:

It would be cheaper to buy them from an aftermarket company. On top of that, by not going through Toyota, you will have more selection as to the kind of HID's you will be getting.

I would first find out how much the HID parts cost from Toyota before going aftermarket... or.. find out who makes the HID parts for Toyota.. perhaps Phillips or Hella or whoever else really makes the parts for Toyota.

I've talked to Edrick about the '03 factory HIDs, he said he can order the parts but there still isn't any price listed yet, maybe another few weeks. I would like to know what's the difference between:
4000k
5000k
6000k
7000k
?
And what ####k does honda s2000 use? Cuz man the s2k HIDs are bright!

in my opinion, it probably aint worth paying the premium of the factory HIDs, but youd get what you pay for. all these aftermarket HIDs work fine appearance-wise, but they are definitely not set for optimum performance. the beams and shet just arent lined up properly in the projectors and the light refracts all over the damn place. thats why it's so easy to blind people with your aftermarket HID kits.

4000k
5000k
6000k
7000k
those are just the colors that they produce.....4000K is whiter 7000K is more purple light output...
the s2000 and the audi's get their white color output and the purple outline because of their headlamp.....it's diffferent then the celica's headlamp...so no HID kit can get the same affect with the s2000 or audi HIDs

Thanks for all your replies guys. . . one more question, what is the TOYOTA part number of the new OEM 2003 HID kit for the Celica? I'm from Vancouver BC, Canada and unfortunately we don't have the HID option up north.
Maybe I can get my uncle who owns a body shop up here to specially order me one. He usually gets special pricing. :gap:

The reason i'm looking forward in gettin' one is because I'm also from canada. I think it sux that we don't get nothing. If you can hook me up with a good deal, I'll get one off your uncle =). I'm from toronto, ontario.
