Ok I went to a independent stereo shop that does alarms and stereos and i asked for a alarm system. They asked me if i had power door locks ,NO power windows ,NO so they go on explaining some crap i have no idea about and at the end he told me there is a small choice of alarms i can choose from since i don't have ne of the stuff above. Now i want to get a alpine alarm because i heard nothing but good about them. no my question is , is there different alarms for non power cars? and also what would be a good alpine alarm for me with no power windows or locks? thank you for your help

I think you can use any alarm you want. Just keep in mind that you are wasting your money on the high end alarms if your not using their options. That is why they suggest the less expensive ones. From what I have read, DEI (viper and other stuff) makes good alarms and thats what I just got installed the other day. I used to own an alpine alarm in my 94 celica. It worked good but had very bad range. Very bad being 5'-10'. My new viper is over 50 yards since I was too lazy to walk any further away to test the range. 50 yards is much better than my 5-10 feet ;)
So, if money is no object, get whatever one you want and dont hook up the locks and stuff. Otherwise, try to find a good brain unit with few options and get that one.
