Here's a poll, cause I miss the snow, and want it to snow alot. And Christmas is coming up and you're all right that it doesn't feel like christmas. The only reason it does is cause my funds are going really low and I know I gotta work some overtime. Anyway, the poll is: How much snow can a stock celica "plow" through or drive in. (Obviously not referring to plowing snow, but simply driving through)

Gun the throttle in 3rd gear, you'll see the rev climbs up very fast, dunno it VVTLi kicked in though. Traction was poor but ABS helped a lot.

Not to be rude but you are full of it. You can't do 3' of snow in a 4X4 let alone a Celica.

I don't like snow that much either because I can't play golf.

Kind of a silly poll.
Because of it's 5.5 inch ground clearance a Celica cannot "technically" even drive through 6 inches of snow. There are a couple different types of "snow". Two that come to mind are, light & fluffy (powder) or the heavy & wet. The type on snow makes a huge difference.

The Celica could get stuck in 6" of slushy snow, or easily plow through 20" of powder. If you think about the weight distribution onto each tire, it is similar to a lowered Corolla with performance tires on it. If you install good snow tires though, you should get around just fine, just as long as you stay on traveled or plowed roads.
I survived rather well last winter on the stock tires, and we had 48" of snow last December. I only drove to work during the big storms, and I stayed on well traveled roads. I cannot say anything about this year, as of today, we still haven't had any snow at all.

IT's really true; this is so subjective. The east gets 8% to 11% water snow, west 6%+/- snow, and far west 12+% snow. THe wet snow would compact into icy hardpack under tires, Utah powder would blow out of the way to an extent. Even more important is the base. 3" of fresh light powder over "candy apple" 1/2" ice is almost impossible. On the other had, 18" of fresh champagne powder on dry tar should be doable with studded or stud-free snows and an LSD. One could go through a five foot high drift if it was light snow and only 20 feet long, with a lot of momentum! Attitude is where it's at too... I've seen a crap '82 Tercel go places a $40,000 Navigator 4x4 owner would be too scared to go.
