not to sound stupid most of u probably know but i just figured out that if u push the center of those annoying plastic rivets that hold yur engine plastics, down they come off pretty easily. just think i spend most of my time tryin to take those thing off without breakin em and all i goto do is push the little button in the center:D

Yep, it tells how to remove them in the owner's manual for replacing the headlight bulbs.

But for anyone who does their own oil changes, the plastic fasteners that hold the splash guard on underneath are different, you have to pry the center section out to release those fasteners (you'll understand if you look at it).

How do you take off the cover off the engine? It has the weird looking plastic rivets. Is that same as the ones from the splash guard?

i believe the valve cover rivits screw out, but that tab on top gets in the way. I broke the head of the rivits off of mine and the bottom part screwed out.

the valve cover is something i haven't figured out yet. the two metal screws are easy to do. those, you just.....well, unscrew. the plastic pieces are the interesting parts. i ended up breaking mine, but looking at it, there's some tool that pulls it up and twists it into an unlock position. or at least, that's my guess. you could probably try pliers.
