This stuff rocks! :D

I got up early yesterday morning so I could try this stuff out (was gonna go to the LI meet in the afternoon, but got hopelessly lost :( ). Zaino ZFX accelerates the drying and curing process of Zaino polish, so you can do a car three times in one day! You just fill up one of the bottles that comes with the ZFX with either Z2 or Z5, and mix in 4-5 drops of the ZFX. One bottle holds enough polish to do the car three times.

After you apply the mixture to the car, you only need to wait 30 minutes to wipe it off. I don't know if it was just me, but it seemed easier to wipe the dried polish off with the ZFX than without. It's also so much easier to apply the second and third coats than the first because the car is so smooth. :)

The only negative is that you NEED to use up the mixture within 6 hours, otherwise it will start to break down and become useless. Also, you need to clean out the bottle you used with Dawn within 12 hours, otherwise the mixture will bond with it and effect the next mixture you use in it.

All in all, if you are willing to spend the better half of the day polishing your car, this stuff is worth it. Zaino ZFX is also supposed to make the polish more durable. Zaino's website said it was similar in purpose to the chemical they use in paint to make it flexible for bumpers. They also say the ZFX eliminates the need for Z1, which is used to help bond the polish to the paint.

The proof is in the pix (click for full size):

The Zaino still beads water months after I last polished it!

Can paint get any more shiney? I think not. :)

Does any one know if it would be advantageous to use Z-1 and Zfx? I know that you arn't supposed to HAVE to but I still have almost a full bottle of Z-1 left over from last summer. What do you guys think, should I use it as long as I already have it, or should I just get rid of it now?

I'm not sure if Z1 would work with the ZFX, or if it would be necessary. You only need one coat of Z1 per year, or whenever you claybar the car, so using ZFX with it would be a waste of both (unless you measure enough for just one coat). And you really don't want the Z1 to dry up too fast since you apply the Z2 right over it. I'm also not sure if it would be a good idea to put ZFX in the Z2 when you put it over the Z1 (they need time to bond together).

I still have the Z1 and am going to use it till the last drop. It won't hurt anything, just make the process take a little longer.

You also have to take into consideration that 4-5 drops equals 3 coats of Zaino. That means at least 60 coats per bottle of ZFX (in theory). I'm not complaining. :) You'll go through a few bottles of Zaino before you finish the ZFX.

Besides, the time you save by just adding 4-5 drops of the stuff is worth it. Also the fact that your car will be shiny as hell after three consecutive coats! :D

Z2 and z5 are interchangeable.....z2 is the polish....z5 is the polish with swirl remover....you are supposed to use z5 to get rid of the swirls...up to a couple of coats...then z2 it up to a total of 5 coats.....zaino rocks
