Hi all, I'm new to the majority of celica boards. I've been looking at rims to replace the frisbee's on my GT and I have a few questions..As of right now, I'm looking at the 17'' 5Zigen Fireballs, Konig Tantrums and Motegi MR7's. Could you guys give me an opinion on which rims to get? I've heard on this forum that the Motegi's are heavy; however, I'm looking just to replace the steelies that I have. In 17's, how would you rank the order of the 3 that I'm looking at?

in this order
5zigen, Konig, and Motegi.
opt for some other Konig rims other than the Tantrums. they're kinda played out. get one of the lighter ones.

I LOVE the Moteggi MR5's. But the real question is what do YOU like the best? Don't sweat what we think. Go for what YOU want Bro.

Well, IMO those 3 rims look very similar..so much that it's not really which look between the 3, but the quality of the rims-would that change the order in which rims you would buy? Getting rims that many people have isn't really a concern to me, I'd rather get rims that I like and find out that everyone has them then getting some weird rims that I dont really like just to be unique.

Go for the 5zigen. I just got a set of 17'' 5Zigen Fireballs w/ 215/50/17 last week and it looks real tight. I went with 215/50 because I don't plan on lowering my car and it works out nicely for me.

215/50's? I've never really thought about that..I dont think I'm going to lower my car as I dont feel like crawling over speedbumps or driveways. Where did you get your rims and tires from? And if you dont mind, what did you buy them for?

With that configuration, the gap between the tire and fender is around 2" but the car is actually higher (not really noticeable). I got mine at Discount Tires for $1077 (out the door).
