Some kid (pretty flt for a white guy type) I guess was driving his moms 318 and was up my ass for a good 5 mins revving his engine and all kinds, we finally get to a light and he's still revving and revving. I didn't feel like running him and decided not to. So the light turns green this kids spinning all over the place I guess he dropped the clutsh at lik 5k or so and he goes ahead and starts tapping his breaks and using the four ways. So me and my girl laugh.
I pull up to the next light hes beside laughing, he pulls down his window and says "Thats why u get a german, sorry to embarass u".
**** it i lost it then he revs the light turns green i slip at around four I get a bit of spin, I go through first second and third and he was I swear to you around 3-4 cars back.
Dumb kids.

The only engine that BMW puts in the 3 series that has 225 hp is the E46 330i engine. Now that engine was only produced for the 2001+ 3 series, so I'm surprised he would be able to afford to put that in his 3 series as a replacement. Also, an e30 318is ('90-'91) would own a 2000+ Stock Celica GT. They have only 2 hp less than the GT (138), more torque, that's lower in the rpms, limited slip, and weigh about 150 lbs. lighter. You do the math.
I thought we were talking about racing a gts??? Yes a 318 and a gt would be a lot closer.

hmm..arent 318is clocked at 139 horses? shouldnt civics/accords beat them easily? =D
Offical data from edmunds.com
1994 318i
1.8L 138 hp I4
Weight: 2866 lbs
with only 138hp and 2866 lbs, it is pretty heavy. A gt manual should have no problem with it.

I hate those punks that think just because the buy the cheapest BMW, it will beat any car on the road because it's a "BMW". Such idiots.
There was this cocky M3 driver in his brand new 333hp car, so he said, "nice car, to bad it's not as nice as mine!" and started laughing and reved his engine, so i said F*CK it! i'm gonna smoke this asshole!
The light turned green and he was spinning like mad. I waited for him to get some grip, then at 5000rpm BOOM! I was off and left him in his dust! I slowed down to see his reaction but when he saw i was waiting for him, he turned down another street.
I love my NSX:D

I've smoked two 318i's (one was an IS) in my manual GT in races not even worth posting about. Both were punk kids.

Acilec,
I can guarantee that if you went up against a stock '91 318is from a standing start, and you were stock too (no pulley or intake), you would lose. The '91 (e30 chassis) 318is wasn't a pig like it's '92 318is (e36 chassis) cousin. It's 60 ft times with it's standard limited slip from a stop would eat you alive. From a roll, it'd be a battle of drivers. I know, for I owned one for 5 years until I was hit head on early last year.

Hi b1mmer,
The IS is a sweet car, but I did race it while rolling. The kid was not a good driver, so yeah he coulda spanked me if he knew what he was doing. I didn't feel like mentioning them here because they were just lame races because of the drivers that were in them. My first choice for a car will always be a BMW. It is in my heritage (My dad owned 325i and 525i cars) and I've always loved them. One day I will own an M3 no doubt about it. I'm a huge BMW F1 fan and I think Juan Pablo and Ralph are going to win even more races this year. The FW24 is going to kick ass.
Don't get me wrong on Celicas either. I absolutely love my car and can't seem to stop spending money on it. The Celica was my second choice as I was looking at 1994-1996 328IS BMW's. That is my all time favorite car body wise and power wise. BMW is just class. The reasons I chose the Celica is because I could not afford a new and even the used 328is. Bimmer and the second hand parts are way too expensive. In addition, those cars I had in mind are hard to find with warranty left on them. I had no luck and opted to go for the reliability and warranty packages of the Celica. The GT is a blast to drive and I'm starting to get into tuning it. I'm now addicted to it and glad I made the purchase. I don't have to worry about anything happening to it either.
In 4 years time I'll be in BMW for sure. Tell me about your car!
Best wishes,
Fin

This guy that worked with me always bragged about his brand new 2001 BMW (one of those 300 series)..he had to wait 4 months for it..than when he got it he got even worse..I had to see what all his hype was about..when I saw his Bimmer..I was dissapointed..it was basically a base model...no fancy options on it..looked kinda plain on the inside too...His monthly payments were just about the same as buying 2 Fully loaded Celicas..and he could of got them right off the lot instead of waiting 4 months..he would always brag about the power on it and that I didnt have a chance..when It came down to it, I was like "Were you trying??"...No flaming going on here though..dont get me wrong I got love for the Germans too..especially the M3..that thing is sweeet:eek: ...."Its not how you stand by your car, its how you drive it"..hehe
