Saw the sickest race last night

After murdering the bimmer I'm just cruising along when I pull up to a supra to the left of me (3 lane road). It had the veilside body wotk and 18" volk wheels, looked bomb. I'm sitting there admiring the car when all of a sudden i hear a pftshhhhh to the right. I look over and its a 300zx tt. The supra lets its bov go and now I don't know which way to look. The light turns green they're both struggling for traction, while I on the other hand am off half a second later they fly by me (I wasn't racing just trying to keep up to see the putcome). They're even till about third and thats whn something bit the 300z in the ass and the thing was of so fast (NOS I guess). Anyways the 300z pumped the supra.

had to have been nos. only the type R has a third gear that can smoke a supra without needing nos.

anyone think of having upgraded turbos??? with the avc-r they have gear control, which allows you to boost low at low gears, like 1st you can get traction and then 3rd gear you can let it all loose and boost the max psi. he might of had nos, but there is too many variables to say he did or didnt. cool race though to see.

I think my first move would be to soil myself if lined up three across with a Supra TT to the left and 300Z TT to the right. Seriously, that must have been cool to see them both take off from either side of you. I would love to lose a race like that. (And funny enough the first race I ever had was with a Supra, granted I think it wasn;t a TT, but still, gave the guy a good feeling about his car)

Get real, Type R 3rd gear is the SAME as the GT-S 3rd. How do I know? 2 of my buddies I run with has a Type R.

Supra 3rd gear is the best thing in that gearbox. It will murder any car out there in 3rd gear.

Actually I have seen Type Rs pull on Vipers in 3rd gear. They are high-tech sports cars. MAD VEETECH POWAH

I dont know about the Type R being all that great!! and no way in hell it "murdered" a viper. Those things have too much muscle, but if you talking about a ITR with the hook up (nos, turbo, boost turned way the hell up, and the works) then ok, i might understand, but unless hes pushing nearly 400hp to the wheels and has some phatty tires, then the R doesnt stand a chance. Now if your talking about a normal type r ( cant really say stock cause even air intake and exaust doesnt help on bit on those cars cause they already have very low restricted intake and exaust) then the type r and GTS are VERY similar, The type r will ready 0-60 about .1 seconds faster than a stock GTS and about .3 seconds faster in the 1/4 mile, put air intake and exaust on both cars and then its dead even (cause like I said before the I/E wont really help the ITR) all about driving skills and a little 6 speed advantage

yeah, a type R can smoke a viper in 5th gear. If you launch the type R just right in the 5th gear, you can outgun the viper.. vipers are slow anyways. Also, if you get the 5 inch exhaust, you will be able to get 50+hp..

whoever said a type r can hang witha supra let alone a viper in ANY gear needs to put down the crackpipe. supras best gear is 3 true, the only way a 300zx can all of a sudden just take off on a supra in 3rd is if he has nos period!!! unless the supra let off.....

well I know just a month ago
the twinturbo.net guys went to a track and had a meet.

a famous supra owner named JackB was there. He used to go to tt.net and flame all the 300zx guys cuz he felt the Supra was far superior.

later they sorta became friends so that's why he went to the meet with them.

well the fastest Z there ran a 11.1 @ 127 mph. He used NOS
but ONLY in 1st gear to spool his turbo's

JackB could only get a 12.6 however he did say that he had to keep letting off the gas cuz the track sucked and his car kept slipping sideways.

anyhow the 300zx has gotten a lot faster recently :)

well i dun kno too much about 300zx's, from what i can recall, dont qoute me on this, is that to be able to achieve an 11.1 @127 he would have needed upgraded turbos fuel since they have small injectors, etc. which is probably the reason why he needed some spray at the start to get the turbos goin. didnt jackb sell his show supra, and recently buy a red one, but it still has stock twins inthere rite???, so therefore, running a 12.6 is really good esp if he kept lettin off.
