Apparently the rattling on the passenger side under the dash is comming from the engine and that's why you cannot pinpoint the exact location from inside the vehicle. The noise is actually caused by a chain tensioner, the tensioner is not putting enough pressure on the chain which causes it to slap around the inside of the engine, no damage is done however it is annoying as hell.

Sounds like a screw or washer being shacken inside a metal box.

Is it only when you accelerate, say, 1st through 2nd gear, or is it constant? Because I'm getting this, too. Is there an easy fix?

Oh man, that sounds exactly like what is going on with my car. Stupid dealership couldn't figure it out (surprise surprise). I hope this is the same thing, I've had that rattle for like 6 months now. Thanks man.

It is constant above 3500RPM, my girlfriends 2001 Honda CBR600F4i had the exact same noise and it was the Cam chain tensioner. So I beleive they have determined what the problem is and they have ordered the parts so I will post an update when the new parts are in to confirm their findings but I am confident they have found the cause of the noise.

There is no EASY fix, take it to the dealer and have them deal with it, it is under warranty right?

i dont know if this is the problem with your cars, but i had a rattle on the passenger side too, the dealer said it was a bolt that cracked which conncected the engine to the fender mount they replaced it the same day i got my belt tensioner replaced. hopefully this gives u another possible solution.

I think my rattle is differrent...

Every time when the front passenger wheel goes over a bump, I hear this rattle/shutter coming from around the glovebox. I noticed that other memebers have the same problem but no one has found a solution.

Any help would be nice, as this is very annoying.

For you GTS guys...
I was getting a noise when going over bumps that sounded metallic, like glass and metal being clinked together. Hitting the top of the passenger side dash made the noise too. It turned out to be the heat sink on the stock amp up under the dash. I stuffed some hard foam pieces up around the amp and the sound is gone. Drove my f'ing nuts!
