View Full Version : Driving Awarness 101.....! To rice or not to rice..!
My two cents : > Recently, I noticed my wifes front tires were wearing unevenly on her 95' Accord.. So I went to allign the vehicle, and the shop told me I needed a new allignment cams to get the proper adjustment.. So I yanked the two fronts off and put the stocks wheels back on in the front for the meantime.. (you know... the ones with without the hubcap and are all black..) Now even though I have a full body kit on the car with 17"s and a 1.5" drop all the way around, the car now seems to draw more attention from the younger FOLK who have thrashed or beat Civics, Sentra's, Preludes, Corollas and just about anything... I don't mind when I see a guy in the street "maneuver" his way through traffic and pull alongside...! Then only to peel out at the light and take off when it goes green... I look at these guys and I wonder if they notice the babyseat I have in the back..! I'm not going to race this guy I tell myself.. It's stupid when I see these guys almost cause a major accident because he's got to look cool "swooping on someone with a nice car"... Cutting people off in general pisses me off. But when it's a a guy who's car looks like it was just thrown together gets me even more upset.. I was young once myself and I know the stupid moves I made, but they don't compare to what I've seen.... My dad told me once that driving is a privilege not an obligiation...! Let's be safe out there people..!

in florida, thats stuff has come to an end... if the cops see ya. if they catch you here, racing from a light, or whipping around other drivers... bye bye car... and maybe some jail time or more. i've already seen 2 civics on the back of a tow truck, and 3 guys sitting hand cuff'd. no more racing on the streets for me...:ugh:
GTS LAID.... PM'd you back....! But now that I'm a bit older and wiser and have a two year old son, I'm a changed driver on the streets and highway... Go the speed limit and wear my seat belt..
I talk to my son as we drive now... Not looking to race or speed around town... Plus I found the rush I need at the race track.. Can go faster than I ever wanted to go while being under control... It's so much fun.... And I'm tired of seeing the backlash on the news every night... And that doesn't help any when you have car with mods on it.. The cops automatically think your'e racing, even though your not... So I don't want to give them any reason to pull me over... You know..!!

The only dumb thing I do behind the wheel is get sleepy. I tell myself to quit zombie driving but once in a while I do it anyways.

Interestingly enough I get challanged by more pickups and Ford SUVs than anything else. Like *big* suckers. What are those people thinking? Not only do their heavy asses burn more gas in a single run than I do in a week of commuting, and their CG is so high they couldn't do a turn at more than 30 mph if they had a rope tying them to a post, they still want to race sportscars too?? I don't even bother anymore, it's just silly.
