Need help with the gas pedal linkage, I installed the gas pedal linkage to my 2002 Celica GT and didn't pay attention when talking the old one out. There is a rubber boot and a little clip that the cable goes through, when I slip the cable into the new linkage what side does the rubber boot and clip go on (the back or front of where it connects to the new linkage)

Right now I have the clip through the hole on the front side of were it connects to the linkage and the rubber boot over that then of course the end of the cable so on the backside there is nothing, is that the right way?

Sounds right. The arm of the gas pedal pulls against the rubber stop so the rubber stop is closer to you.

Thank you...

So that means there is nothing that goes on the backside of the pedal arm, there are only 2 peices right? the rubber boot and the clip.

They sure do. I see you are from Toronto, I am in Etobicoke. Know anyone that has good prices for Body Kits or anywhere I can get celica specific aftermarket parts like an exhaust? I found someone that can get me the Wings West kit for $1100 + tax (not painted)

2kgtx:

The clutch and brake pedals are surrounded by rubber you basically pull off the old ones and the new ones fit over the metal bracket however when you get to the last corner it is pretty hard to lift the rubber surround up to go over the metal (I got a huge blister on my finger tip from trying to lift it over and of course alot of cursing, I don't know if there is a better way to do it)

The left footrest you just slip your finger underneath (pretty tight to get it under but it will go) and lift to pop the clips, I started with the bottom clip then did the top since I could get my finger underneath the bottom and not the top (there are 2 clips one on bottom and one up top) then you unscrew the white clip that remains on the threaded bolt attached to the car and put them back in the removed footrest to put the new rest on just align the hole in the clips (do not remove the white clips that come attatched to the new footrest) with the threaded bolts and push the new footrest on with alot of pressure untill you don't hear any more clicks.

The Fuel pedal has to be unbolted, you will see a black plastic peice with a bolt on top and bottom, just remove those and unhook the cable from the top of the pedal linkage and put the new pedal on in reverse order.

It is really not difficult at all just pay attention to which way the cable comes off the linkage, I did not pay attention as stated earlier in this thread and had to ask but it turned out I had put them in correct.

GTpiMp:
You can order them from Toyotaguys.com for $130 US (Manual) the Auto cost more. I got mine from my dealer (replacement GTS parts) it cost me $199 (CDN) taxes in, The brake and clutch pad were about $6 each, the left footrest was about $120 and the gas pedal w/ linkage was about $65.

Just bought the car and the parts manager is cool, gave me the alarm for $400 tax in as well, he is knocking the price on everything I order.

The pedals are for looks, they do look pretty cool. At first he said $240 taxes in (15% discount) then when he called me to pick them up he said $199 which was cool because I allready agreed and ordered them at the first price.
