The next DCM7thGEN meet will be ont he weekend of the 18th of January. Now I am fresh out of ideas, on what to do or where it will be at. My default at this point would be to do something at Reston Town Center. It's nice there, we can go see a movie. Actually thats a good idea go see a movie! Reston Town Center has nice empty parking garages that we can all meet at. So, if someone could post movies that come out that weekend, we can start our planning. I figure we should meet up around 12 or 1. Also if anybody has anyother ideas I will consider those first.
Remember this is not the sign up yet so post if you have any suggestions, conplaints, comments just tell me. I would like to see comments from everyone.
Jim or Eric could you please make this a sticky.

just an idea: what if we went go-karting this time? i dunno if that idea has been put out already, but it would be a lot of fun... i usually go up to Allsports GP-- it's alittle expensive but it's an awesome learning experience...

It's like 75 bux an hour, and 15 minutes of that is training. I looked into it over the summer and most said it was too expensive (like me, if I'm going ot spend that must I would drop an extra hundred and go to the track). I will look into it again if there is interest.

They got a really nice ice skating rink. Hey, it's just a thought so no flames. But which day? Sat. or Sun?

As usually I'm leaning toward Saturday, but some people stated they would like it to be on Sunday last time, so if enough want it on Sunday then we will do that.
RTC is really nice during the winter.

I work at RTC and most likely i'll be working on sunday. Saturday I might be able to take off, but normaly I don't get off till 3 on saturdays. Either way, ice skating would be alot of fun... We all know most of us can drive, but how about skate... Top of the old parking garage would be the best spot for a meet. My car will be parked up there, i don't know if i'll be able to make it...
ps I don't have permission to access the Dcm7thGen forum.. ??

Better hope its cold out, if not it's like skating on apple sauce. :D
If you all want to go skating SkateQuest in Reston might be a better idea...its only 5 mins away and I know some people that work there (hell I used to for 3 years)....might be able to get some hookups. Much better ice!

This is Reston Town Center, it's different, and it shouldn't be that far. We had a meet at White Flint Mall last month and one at another MD mall the month before that.
Besides, Dulles Town Center is pretty central to everyone. It's like 45 minutes for me and several others. Thats why every other meet will be there. Besides they are very easy to deal with, and actually like us being there.

I say we invade Tysons Corner.....nah too many riceboys.....RTC is fine with me. What about the Capital Expo Center, that's a nice parking lot.....didnt someone know somebody who has a club and they meet INSIDE or something like that?
Keep in mind it will be cold by then.....some are anti-cold you know......:D
totally agree with gt2GTS

Well you see, you live in Fairfax and he lives in Waldorf. How can we make it closer to both. DTC is in the middle. Come on guys lets be reasonable about this. I think I do a reasonable job of placing meets. Hell I bend over backwards for some people. The last time we had a meet anywhere near Fairfax was like July. MD has had two meets back to back. So everybody come on and give alittle.
Tysons maybe a good idea for a later date but I am SURE they will be ****s about it. Same with Capital Expo Center but I will look into both. Actually if anyone has any other suggestions for places to meet I would be glad to check them out.

They don't make it in yellow or I'd have gotten it. (Actually they don't make them in white for 2002.)
"Yeah, I guess you'd scrape off the "Tech" part huh. " - LOL
crossed my mind
can not have tech sticker smoking badly, my none tech sticker:)

That IS where the Lightning guys meet usually. I can understand the couple of girls not wanting to go, but I didn't think it was THAT bad of an idea that it "wouldn't even be an option".

- i think i need to buy a truck and hang with u
i will be muuuuuch faster and gotta be eating in hooters:p

what about a PRE-Meet at Hooters? :)

Hooters is an option jake. I don't think you should be so harsh. Remember, if the majority of the group want to meet up at a hooters so be it.
Hooters may offend some women but not all...it's a restaurant where guys go, hang loose man!!!! they make some pretty damn good wings man!
anywho...I shouldn't speak since I am an undecided.

Go to Hooters on your own time. Why should I pay overpriced food prices to watch you guys drool over waitresses.
Wait, I dont think I am going to the meet anyway. The Long Island trip is enough Celica for me for one month. But, be considerate for the other girls that go!:p

Look I try to accomadate everyone with the meets. I would never want to make someone uncomfortable at a meet when there are tons of other places we could go.
If you want to check my sexual credentials, then ask my girlfriend ;).
I'm sorry I was a bit harsh but I was just trying to be considerate.
As for Fairfax, I would love to have one here, but I havent come up with a good place to do it. Every place I think of has some kind of problem. So Elik if you want to make a suggestion (besides Hooters ;)) then I will be sure to check it out.

F it, lets go to Haines Point. Kinda rough to get there but would be cool to have a ton of celis lined up around the park road......, not much to do there though.........
c'mon look at all the places we have around here....
DTC, RTC, White Flint, DC, Tysons, Fair Oaks.....
ringthree
12-27-2001, 09:31 AM
I was thinking of Fair Oaks, but there management office has been ****ing me around. No return to calls, and the person I need to talk to always changes or they are "out to lunch". Anyway, I was thinking of Fairfax Town Center (for future meets not this one). We could have the meet at the top of the Parking Deck. They have a movie threate and food but not much else. Tysons will be a pain in the ass. Almost no decent parking and the security are ASSHOLES. Maybe Tysons II but I cant see the security being much better there.
hey ringthree,
nah i really do not care where the meet is going to be and i am new to the area so i do not know a lot of places
i was thinking of tysons but u are right about cops and always bad parking
so i will leave it up to u, our leader;)

Hey, i see that you are all waffling on where to do your next meet.
I'm coordinating a meet of Acura CL's on the 19th of January at Arundel Mills Mall, right between Balt and DC.
If you will be in the area, or if you are from MD and don't want to drive all the way past DC then stop on by. We are looking at getting as many types of cars out there as we can.
Let me know if you are interested.
peace,
Nomad

There is no waffling, this is just the suggestion sign up. I post this right after the previous meet, then two weeks before the next meet I post the definite sign up and lock the old one. This is our standard procedure. Also I try to balance the meets between MD and VA, and have everyother meet at DTC. We have had several meets in MD and now it is time for a VA meet which is the reason I choose RTC.
That being said I do not appreciate the fact that you came here and offered another on the same day as our clubs meet. I find this to be inconsiderate and rude. This is a DCM7thGEN meet not just a get together and I work hard to make these meets possible.
I often take the time to coordinate meets with other local clubs like neweclipse.org, clubrsx and the local supra club. If we have meets on the same weekend then I wont offer our meet to them out of consideration to their clubs. I believe offering your meet as an alternative to our meet was just plain inconsiderate, and I would never do that and I hope others wouldnt either. If you wish to coordinate meets with DCM7thGEN that is great, but just contact me first about it.

Sorry you feel that way.
I shared some information that I thought may be interesting to folks who couldn't make it to that location.
Rude? Nah.
Inconsiderate? Hardly.
I guess I missed the memo on the intricaies of internet forum etiquitte.
Why would I post with ill-intent? What would it gain me? I'm not lurking on the board trying to mastermind the collapse of your club.
I met a few people and thought you all were a cool bunch who love cars like I do.
No hard feelings on my side.

No hard feelings either, I just think that if you already know this is a club meet you wouldn't offer something as an alternative, when we have something in the works. Yes I am rather territorial ;), but if you had contacted me first we could have easily worked something out. Maybe not rude, but I dont think it was that considerate, but hey thats just me. Contact me if you really are interested in having a combined meet.
