View Full Version : Has anybody shown there car at HIN or any ther BIG show...

I entered my car into HIN, and HIN is this next Saturday. Are the judges REALLY REALLY check out the whole car to see if it is REALLY clean. Like should I jack up my car and clean all under it and. I have showed my car at little shows and i just usually clean my outside and inside very good. But this is HIN I dont know if i should go ALL out and clean EVERY LITTLE THING IN MY CAR. Let me know some ideas and advice. Thanks.....

I would do it! Even if they dont check there, you know you are spot free, and have no worries. Besides it would feel good knowing your whole car now is dirt free, like right out of factory.

I was in the HIN in Atlantic City, and they looked under my car with mirrors and stuff. They are very very tough with the judging.

They even have best undercarriage award... so they will check under your car...

Yea i been to a few. It depends on the judge. Some of them just look at your car and talk to you about it. Others i guess will start to detail it. Maybe it depends how far you get in the judging. Either way, do it! You'll have plenty of time before the show anyway.

yeah.. they're bastards... they stuck their finger behind my spokes to check for dirt on the back of them!!!

uhh do they expect everyone to have their cars spotless and then be towed to the show instead of driven..no matter how clean the car is its gonna get a lil dirty due to some driving..wind, etc.

that's what I dont under stand, why do judges do that? It's a "CAR SHOW" not a "CLEANEST CAR SHOW"

even the big rich people car shows are judged in a similar manner
its all about how good your car looks
clean always looks better than dirty, and every detail counts

this is why i steer clear of showing my car.... id rather race and not worry about nicks, cone marks, rubber in the wheel wells, etc

it doesnt really matter guys.. unless you have like 100k invested into your Celica you have pretty much no shot at winning anything at HIN.

BTW I entered my Celica into like 4 different HINs and the Eclipse has been to 1..

Not necessarily...I took home best display from Street Glow and 2nd place Euro at a HIN in New Orleans and I don't have even half of that invested...granted it wasn't my Celica...but I can see what you mean. Its hard competing with a Celi because they throw all Toyotas in 1 category instead of sub-cats. You have to do some really crazy sh!t to even get noticed at these things

Jotan i dont have any camera, When you see me at HIN take a few pics of my car and post them on the board if you want. I dont have 18 inch wheels on my car but i already bought and ordered them. Jotan you going to HIN this weekend?
