infinity kappa 60.5

to anyone that have this isntalled in their 7th gen. how did you install them up front? mine doesn't fit the factory mount. and if i remove them and get a new adapter, will the back have enough clearance? i don't want the power window to rub on teh speaker or something.

i made mounts out of 3/4" MDF. you just trace the factory speaker's outline onto it, then cut the circle in the middle for the speaker. usually it'll provide enough clearance with the window, because you're 3/4" past flush with the door, but it just depends how deep the speaker is. mine were boston pro's so you can look up the depths online and see how deep yours are compared to those. there was one problem though. the mdf stuck out too far on one side and the door panel wouldn't go back on. the bottom front corners. i used a wood file to shave them down, so that the wood went flat with the door near the edge.

Hey i got the same set of speakers. What i did was i originally bought a set of polk components from crutchfield. And of course they sent me speaker adapters along with the components. But i decided to go with infinity instead, but got it from a different website. So i sent back the polks and called them up to see if i can just buy the speaker brackets, i think they cost around $10 per set, or even less. The brackets fit very well and doesn't vibrate or anything. Try giving them a call. Hope that helps

how did you guys mount the tweeters in your cars? mine are still hiding behind the panel because they are huge. only half of the tweeter is actually exposed. anyone got pics?

You might hate me for this but ..hmm..our oem speakers are actually the same quality as the 60.5

I was interested in upgrading my speakers. How did you come to the conclusion as to the quality of the oem speakers?

i can't tell you about the infinity's, i've always felt like they were the higher side of the average stuff, but i have boston pro 3-ways and they're AMAZING. i love them.

infinity's can handle way more power and get extremely loud, stock speakers will just blow. and imo the sound quality from stock to infinity was as clear as daylight.

I think this is untrue. i am runnig a sperate amp to my kappa and they sounds absolutely amazing. sure it lacks a lil mid bass but the sound quality absoluetly blew away gts premium system.
