LSD question??

I was wondering the difference between gear type and the clutch type?? Also, what is Helical LSD ?? I know there are three or four different company that makes one, which on is the best for autocrossing and track race while maintaining a daily driver drivability?? thanx very much guys

gear type and helical are the same thing.

Clutch type LSD's are very good, but are pretty much now just for racing, they do wear out and require rebuilding. The helical ones will last forever.

I would get the helical myself.
