For a CAI, what does matter the most for gains of HP? The piping of the CAI, or is it the FILTER for the CAI?

The piping is the same as the stock filter. The CAI filter makes it easier for the engine to get air, so I would say the filter......

I allways wondered that. Any fool can make a pipe and put a filter on it....but what makes one get 1 or 2 horses more than another? :confused:

Its probably the way the pipe bends that effects the '1 or 2' more hp that you mentioned, that and the length of the pipe. But for CAIs in general? I'd say that once you choose one, keeping the filter clean, keeping the MAF clean, and the ambient temperature will make the most difference.
