i read through a couple threads that most of you think that the big brake upgrade is more appearance than anything but who on the boards here has the TRD big brake kit other than pluto?

and whered you buy it from? :)

close to $2000 i think...and it probably helps a decent bit but i doubt you'll feel a huge difference unless you're doing lots of track racing (i could be wrong though, i've never actually driven with them or anything). our stock ones are more than enough for the street but the TRD's do look really nice.

well aren't most big brake kits just looks, but the trd, stoptech, and rotora ones that have 4 piston caliphers supposed to be a major increase in braking?

Zach, missed your IM on this subject... but if you are looking into this, they will help in slowing you down a little, but are mainly for looks until you get some power behind them and need the extra stopping power, but overall they are for looks then performance.

Just my 2 copper coins.

The dealership quoted me $1750 and another 6 hours of labor at $77 an hour. I dont think they are worth it even though they are TRD.

The Stoptech and TRD kits are the same. With the kit it does 60-0 in 96 feet, not too shabby if you ask me. I'd buy them if I had the extra cash.

I always thought that stoptech brakes came w/ crossdrilled rotors. I think if you look at Ivan's (turbo red gt) car, he has the stoptech cross drilled rotors and larger caliper from Stoptech.

Celica GT, 00-02 [295x25 Drilled/Slotted] Red >> $ 1,485.00
Celica GT, 00-02 [295x25 Drilled/Slotted] Blue>> $ 1,485.00
Celica GTS, 00-02 [295x25 Drilled/Slotted] Red >> $ 1,485.00
Celica GTS, 00-02 [295x25 Drilled/Slotted] Blue >>$ 1,485.00

Hmm...there are prices...but i think it bigger then stock size.....it's called a BIG BRAKE KIT....but you're right...it does look similar to stock....not sure though....from the pic here: it says that it's 15-20% bigger then stock...so according to this..it should be bigger.

still on stoptech for 200.00 more... you get a 14.7" cross drilled rotor and a 6 pot caliper...
