Hey .. Im sure this has been asked like 100 times but .....
Is there a big difference between the two? I want a CAI but do not want to risk hydrolock ... I know that there is a splash guard for the INJEN but you have to cut the tubing to install it (dont wanna do this)
ANy insights/experience would be appreciated ....
Thnx

I got the Blitz SUS short ram and I really like it. It sounds really good and I don't have to worry about water and **** like that. Just my 2 cents.

how does the BLITZ compare to the INJEN and AEM shortrams?
Any ideas ...

Not really sure what the performance gains are for those intakes. I'm pretty sure the Blitz has a little bit better air flow though. Some people say the Blitz doesn't filter as good as other filters though. It isn't supposed to get as much hot air as the other filters because it is all metal compared to paper. Not really sure how much of that is true, just what i read.

This all depends on which of the 2 Blitz intakes you have. There is the paper or the metal filter available. I myself have the SUS LM paper filter intake. I had a AEM CAI prior to this and I definately took a small loss in power switching to the short ram. But to me it is worth it because of the risk of hydrolock. I also don't have the time nor ambition to take off the front bumper to clean the filter of a CAI. I took off my front bumper to uninstall the AEM and the filter was just absolutely filthy after only 6 months. I can also tell you that removing the bumper was not a fun nor easy task.
The Blitz filter is now very accessible and extremely easy to replace. So what if I took a small power loss in my perspective. It still has the same scream as my CAI. I no longer have to **** my pants every time it rains and drive through deep puddles while pulling out my hair. I can monitor the cleanliness of the filter by popping the hood, and Blitz is the best short ram intake on the market. With a CAI you are just asking for trouble in my eyes.

well... scotty seemed to summ everything I would have said quite nicely :) here's my dyno with the blitz (LM) intake and exhaust combo on a humid night after a rain fall lol

The only thing I have to worry about is heatsoak... so after a run or two I really gotta let the car cool down... next spring I'm gonna work on some custom tubing to get more cool air moving towards the filter and try to come up with some sort of heat shield.
I'm gonna see how I do at the track next season, hopefully I won't be tempted to run out and buy a CAI for the strip :)
