Probably not your intake. But tighten up the hoses and everything, and reset the ECU. You never know, it might be a simple as not having the gas cap on correctly.

Well the first question should be did you fill the tank just before the CEL came on?

I got this code on the way back from the Solo II Nationals. I Filled the tank Friday night drove the car less than a mile and parked it (no CEL). Saturday morning (5am) as I was entering the expressway (under 1 mile from my Hotel) the CEL popped on. The car ran flawlessly for the entire 600 mile trip home and I did check the gas cap about 2 hours into the trip and it was tight. At 1:30 (back in Chicago) I stopped at my friendly Toyota dealership (Arlington). They brought my car "right in" got the code, checked the cap, tested the cap, visually checked the canister and fuel tank (even removed my exhaust to get a good look at the tank), then pressurized the EVAP system and found no leaks. They ended up re sealing the EVAP system vacuum lines and I was home by 2:30 (Toyota service just sucks don't it :) )

5,000 miles later, still no CEL.

Do you have the Toyota Repair Manual? nxracer has exactly what you/Toyota should check out. P0440 deals with your evaporation system/charcoal canister I believe. Check the Repair/Maintenance Forum for more details.
