Well wasn't it always illegal to watch? I know VJ got a ticket for being a spectator.

I think the law is a good thing. The largest danger factor is all the morons standing around watching.

It's night and two guys are walking home from Denny's...

"Are those cars racing over there?"

"OMG! They are! LOOK AWAY before we get arrested!"

*siren*

"Get down on the ground and put your hands behind your back! You are under arrest. You have the right..."

----

Street racing seems to have gotten out of hand down there. Maybe they need parks kind of like skateparks, but for drag racing and autocrossing. That would go over well. :D

The problem with your scenario is that they are walking down a street, not standing and watching. Also, I doubt these guys would be walking in an area where illegal drag racing occurs. That doesn't usually happen near places with open businesses. Your case isn't holding water. They are only going to use this ordinance when they break up large groups of people watching.

Off topic? Where's the Celica content here.

Maybe "Kill stories," or whatever that forum is...

Here in Florida, they do the same thing. That's why I never go watch street racing anymore. It just a waste of time. Plus going to the races is a greater chance of getting arrested and having to pay fines. IMO.

In Texas, and some other states, being gay is both dangerous and illegal. :D That may be up for debate, but street racing is definitely those things.
