Whatup boys... I'm lookin for your opinons on some good tires for the stock wheels? I'm not lookin to race but I was directed to you guys.. any 411 will help. I apperciate it if you guys would help, and maybe where I could get it from besides tirerack, and all those other sites. Unless those are the only decent ones...Let me know thanks in advance...
A lot of people like the Kuhmo Ecsta 712, but I don't think they're any better than the stock tires. I actually don't even like them as much. But they ARE cheap compared to other brands.

I've been very happy with the Kumhos overall.
They DON'T have the grip of the stock Yokos, but they have worn MUCH better. I've got 15k on mine already, and they still have lots of lifew left, even with regular autocrosses.
I am looking at getting a set of the Falken Azenis tires for racing, though. They may be a better choice than the Kumhos, but I haven't heard anything but good about them. And they only cost about $20 more than the Kumhos, too.

Kuhmo's:
Pros: Price, Price, Price, wet weather traction, overall good wear and good performance.
Cons: Not quite the bite of the stock Yokohamas.
Stock Yokohama's:
Pros: dry grip
Cons: High wear rate, grip in the wet. Price
Verdict: I'll probably never buy a non-Kuhmo passenger car tire again. Can't beat the price/performance ratio.
If you don't want to do mail order from the tire rack, then start calling local shops to see what tey can set you up with.

Thanks for the response guys.. Here's one more question... How well are the Kumho's in snow? I do live in a cold winter climate and just wanted to know if they would be able to handle the snow?

I'd avoid the snow.

I recently drove over the pass between Scaramento and Reno in a snowstorm with new Kuhmos on the car. I was surprised at the level of traction and confidence they gave me. The real key to driving in the snow is smoothness and going slow without losing momentum. Tires obviously make a big difference too and the Kuhmos did fine.
I agree with autxr about the wear on the Kuhmos. I've got about 6k miles on them and they still look and feel new.
