View Full Version : is it bad for me to floor it/nearly floor it a lot?

uh i was wondering that... cuz everytime idrive my auto gt around i always floor it AT LEAST twice or three times, just because it's damn slow if i dont. in fact, its still damn slow when i do. but i do it anyway. is it bad if im flooring it and getting it to rev high a bunch? any problems i will see down the road/near future?

2200 miles on it right now.. but i started flooring it after i got over 1k or so.

As long as you already had that first oil change you should be fine engine wise.

Damn, i got mine in May and alrdy have over 9,000 miles on it.

Man, I floor my car everyday and ever since I got it. No problems here.

thats why you get a manual :gap: that would piss me off if i couldn't redline in my GT...or if I had a GTS I couldn't hit lift...blah.

and yeah as long as u got that first oil change your all set, i beleive there is engine particles, metal, etc in your car during that initial break in period and its not cool to beat it before you get the oil changed. i do it at 1000 miles on the first one, then 2500 thereafter, but thats just a personal preference, you can go 3000 easy but dont go more than 3000, going over that is asking for trouble even if the mechanic says " you can go 5k-6k miles "

my engine gets it a lot, i think the only time i havent WOT'd it is like when i have to take my mother to the store or something.

I got mine in august (had 27 miles on it), and i just passed 10,000 miles tonite!
