Hey, after they did this (cleaned injectors done by service dealer), my car had better throttle response and was a bit more "GO". pretty awesome.. Anyone else have the same experience.. can't believe it made such a big difference...

Does that fuel injector cleaner you add to your gas tank really work?

sorry bout that dude. sounded kinda rude there..lol. i think the additive works if you use it constantly like every 3000-6000 miles. i do mine every 6000 seems to run good like its still new.

HELL YES...I used that once a month on my old car, when I had it taken to the shop, the mechanic was stunned at how clean the engine was. I still use it once a month/every two months

i'm kinda lazy so i took it to my authorized service dealer.. "Longo Toyota, Southern CA" the largest repair shop in the nation or world dont' remember which.. yep and they charged me 130 for the 1 year service.. +20 for oil change/filter... i had a coupon for free oil change...so ended up 130 after tax... rotated tires and all that other stuff... i think its normal pricing.. not some sort of sale or anything..

tell me what the dealer does for that $130 1 year service, did they pour something in the gas tank or di they dismantle the injector and clean it?

I called about 15,000 mile service and they said it was going to be $280 so I told them to forget it. 2 months later I threw a CEL so I took it in. They replaced the injectors, ECU, and squeaky V-belt, all for free. They didnt say anything about my CAI, and they even washed my car when they were done.

I'm seriously thinking about unplugging a vacuum hose around 35,000 miles to throw another CEL. If they are going to charge almost 300 bucks just to look at it, but if the CEL is on then its free....

I put the injector cleaner in the gas tank every oil change.

The dealer charges an arm and a leg to clean your injectors. Putting the injector cleaner in your tank on a regular basis should be good enough.

I used to think that fuel system cleaner stuff was cool too until I started reading stories about how over time it will end up fu@king up your injectors and O2 sensor... something about the chemicals that are in the cleaners will corrode that stuff and screw it up, so I stopped using it.
