Looks like the passenger area stayed relatively intact. I guess it has well designed crumple zones.

The insurance company would total it with damage that extensive. I've seen them total cars with far less damage than that.

wow, already.. <-- we said that with the turbo 350z.. now im saying it with htis wreck. that sucks though. sad to see things like this. i dont kow how the accident happened, but it would suck if the reason was people driving powerful cars they can't control.. but thers always a group like that with all cars.. even more when the wrx came out.. all thew kids and newbies over estimating their awd and thinking they're invincible, ending up breaking their trannys or wrecking their car.. sad.

ouch thats the second Z i've seen totaled, there was one near my house at a body shop still on the flat bed. i went back to get pics of it but the car was gone.

the Z i saw was just as bad as that one but more front end damage

Half of you are calling this driver an idiot because his car was wrecked, but you don't know how it happened. I actually saw this car on Saturday when it was still in its original form. It was at the Georgia Z Club meeting....the driver is not an idiot; he doesn't deserve to have his license taken away; and the car is not uncontrollable.

Here is the story given on a different forum for the accident
'...the Z was hit by an SUV and then pushed into an intersection where another car hit from the side.'

FYI:
1.The new Z has been in the US for a couple of months now.
2.The new Z is not turbocharged (no boost to control).
3.The new Z retails from 26000 to 36000 depending on the model
