how do i take them out of the gt they look like they are riveted in

Yes, they are riveted in. You have to drill them out. I don't have pics right now, but it is self explanitory.

What ever you put back in their place, just use bolts in stead of trying to rivet them back in place.

how do you mount regular 6.5" back on? the casing for stock 6.5" seems to be part of the speaker...

You cut the stock rear speaker out or get a mount kit.

The mount kits I've seen suck, so I cut the speaker out.

if i was to make custom mounts, would wood, aluminum, or plastic to best?

Wood would be the best.Use MDF at least 1/2" thick.Any metal, unless treated will resonate, and plastic will also.
