Question for GT owners with GT-S OEM fogs...

I just purchased a set of GT-S OEM fogs for my GT model Celica. (thanks larryd). Now after removing the front bumper I see that the wiring is already there to simply plug in these fogs easily. My question though is where the wire runs to into the dash. Obviously I have no switch on my turn signals like the GT-S. I'd like to put a switch to the left of the steering wheel on one of the plastic panels. I was just wondering if anyone knows where the wire runs to inside the compartment.

Also I heard that you don't have full control over the fogs if you plug them into those OEM outlets? Apparently they only come on with the headlights. If this is the case I will run seperate wiring - so please let me know.

Scotty - I know that you have aftermarket fogs right now. Use those wires!!! Cut the wire harness off the stock fogs and attach them (the wires not the clips) to the aftermarket wires. Those plugs that are there already won't work unless you have the OEM fog light switch. I have my own swtich on the left of the steering wheel. Hope this helps.

Thanks Jackie, but I have a couple of concerns about this. I am not too keen on the idea of splicing the wire harness on the OEM fogs. That is why I was hoping I could set them up similar to the GT-S. I also plan to relocate the switch for the aftermarket fogs - instead of the center console I want to have them to the left of the steering wheel on one of those empty plastic panels. I'd also like to wire them up somehow so that the car has a continuous beep if the keys are removed and the lights are left on. (same way the headlights work stock). There have been a few times now where I have forgotten the fogs on after leaving the vehicle. But I suppose if I have no other choice I'll have to cut off the harness on these and use my existing wires from the aftermarket fogs.

yeah i bought some gt-s fogs too.... and i used the wires of the aftermarket fogs who were already on my ride.. i took only 10 minutes tio do the job :)
i heard the canadian GT the existing wire doesn't work....... ;)

Someone posted a picture awhile ago of a custom switch setup in their ashtray. I'm interested in getting one similar to what they had, to use for my foglamps.

Does anyone have this picture or call the brand of switch he used?
