Now I was just wondering if I could use the '03 ECU and knock sensors? It wouldnt make a difference correct? Why does everyone use only the 00-01 ECU and knock sensors?

Because the '03 ECU has other things in it like the drive by wire programming.
Also, how many '03 ECU's do you think you will find in the junkyards.

What Scott said.
Basically the 03 would be the perfect solution because the knock sensor is teh same as teh 02, but they added a bunch of new stuff like the drive by wire and its a lot cheaper to use a 01 or 00 ECM than to upgrade teh car to 03 spec.

So if you put in the '03 ECU, your car won't run properly(assuming you can find one)?

That is our *guess*. Get one and try it, then let us know the result.

Its not a guess. The TPS is wired differently and teh engine logic is different. The 2003 takes its "go" signal from the accelerator pedal position sensor code. You would have a CEL and your car would be in a default limp mode.

Guess I'll have to go with the 00-01 ECU then. Thanx griffin you tha MAN! Dumb question, what does CEL mean?

now one last question about this...
Is there an advantage using the '02 knock sensor over the 00-01 knock sensor? Why did they change it, was there a problem with the previous years knock sensor?

The new design is more sensitive and more precise. Theer is NOT a problem with the old style. the new design is not compatible with the older ECUs tho, which is sad cause it would make the ECU swap much easier.
