just inquiring some info for a young friend of mine. this poor guy blew his engine 3 times so the third time his payin out of pocket.
anyways he called me today and he told me his car is at the shop getting custom job done. this is what it consists of
JE pistons 8:1 and rings
Rod bearings
high performance gaskets
custom rods
PNP head
custom valves
haltech ECU
harmon boost controller
Spearco IC
t3/t4 BB garret turbo
SS DP
Walbro Fuelsystem
he wants to know if he would be able to boost more than 13 lbs and if not..how can he boost something higher. what does he need to do. money isnt an issue for this spoiled guy..lol mama got his back.

If a celica with 8:1 compression yes you can boost higher than 13psi, even with stock compression and internals you can boost 13psi with race fuel.

Tell your buddy not to buy the haltec unit as it won't work well with our cars. Our stock ecu is 32 bit and the haltec is only 16, and if money is not a problem he should buy 1. mo-tec, 2. apexi power fc, or 3. greddy e-manage.

oh my, why a t25? thats what eclipses come with stock, and its a damn hairdryer, you definetly dont need 525cc injectors for it either really, depends on how much boost u goin, get a garret t28, or forced performance big t28, i run 16-17psi daily 94 octane on the stock 450cc's

t25 = turbo 2 5mall.. but again its all on the application your using it for.. its a good turbo for good low end.. spools up very fast.. buta fter that.. the turbo is just worthless.. no top end.. thats the turbo that comes stock on all 2g 95+ TURBO eclipses.. and you wonder why they change it ASAP..
IMO dont get too big of a turbo when your only going to use like 15% of its capabilities.. its like gettin a t3/t4 bb 50 trim and only boosting 7psi max.

what you might need is some block guards, inserts that go in and protect it for safe boosting, also, i know a guy getting a brand new t25, he'll sell it cheap if you want, let me know

tell your friend to forget about boost becuz he doesnt have the first inkling of knowledge about it. If he is worried about how much boost he can run instead of being worried about how much power his engine can handle. Two completely different things that depend on each other.

He's not going to learn anything when he blows up his engine...cause he's not spending his own money.
