View Full Version : Going over 180KM/H

Hey has anyone been over 180 in thier celica. I tried yesterday and in 6th gear the car just wont do it over 180...basically you can feel the engine limited to that speed......

dunno maybe toyota know i hoon my baby...bhahahhahaa...

I have the same car as you and mine is definately limited to 180km/h. It will accelerate easily to 180km/h and then just hit the wall. It will do 180 in 4th gear, and can't go any faster in 5th or 6th.

I have been told by many others (including Toyota mechanic) that there is no speed limiter on the Celica, but I do not believe it.

Funny thing is, there are many people on this forum who claim to have gone 200km/h+

The whole thing is just too confusing :confused:

It can go to 240km/h for sure.....

My friend has tried it before....
5th gear can go to about 220km/h
his car is 2000 model

right...we'll seems like we have some celica's with a limiter on them....either that or we have bull**** artists on this forum...LOL !

210 km/hr tested :p in 5th gear didnt get a chance to take it to redline though, probably would have hit 220 at redline in 5th

maybe if u drive it hard from the start it goes over 180 but if u slowly give it throttle then maybe it dont....no idea...strange

Well i aint bull ****ting when i say i have done 210km in my 2000 celi. I even had platinm in the car with me.


It dosent matter if you floor ot from the start or acceltrate from 4th/5th gear I also get over 180km.

If toyota dealers are denying ur cars have speed limiter, then maybe theres something wrong with your cars.:monkey:

yeah maybe there somthing wrong with all our cars that dont go over 180.....LOL !
