I remeber looking at it and thinking it would never happen. The sales guy's like, what color do you like, white, blue...."Red, only red" as I pointed. Me and my dad went over it and drove..I loved it Fast, Nible, Killer Looks, Red...oh yeah, $25,000..We talked it over and after a co-sign from my giving parents, I managed to make it happen. I remember just sitting in the car, drooling while my Dad was signing paper work, and him comming out and yellin' "If you want that car, you better come over here and sign that title!!" Of course I hurried up. He got to drive it home that night because "He wanted to make sure nothing was wrong" I drove the Durrango home and just could not believe the little red rod in front of me was my car, my down payment....my Insurence payment, my car payment, not a single dime was given to me to buy it.:D

I was driving from San Francisco to Los Angeles the minute I left the dealership... was cruisin on the I-5, talkin to my dad... tellin him i got the car, yadda yadda yadda... look down at the speedo, and yell "SH1T!!! I'm going over 100!"

hehe... it was smooth... i was confused by the center window controls, and I was trying my best not to smoke in it.... that didn't last long... i was driving for 5 hours...

the first thing I really noticed was, damn this thing has a big blind-spot. I almost side-swiped someone getting on the freeway leaving the dealership. Took a little while to get used to. :)

Hehe, my first night, I thought I was going to have to take my car back because my bright lights wouldnt stay on when I pulled the lever back. I was pissed. I talked to my wife on the walkie talkies (she was in front of me). She said try pushing the lever foreward.
HAHA, yeah, I knew that!! Damn Toyota's controls are totally different than my honda. I still can't figure out the use of the window lock. If you don't want someone rolling down the passenger window, just smack their hand!!
What i loved the most was the attention (and still do) and the kick in the pants at 6K!!!!

Probobly something like "this sure is different from my truck" which was 30 at the time and what I was driving at the time or probobly just enjoying the fact that I didn't have to worry about anything breaking while driving.

Still got the truck - can't part with it!

BTHO TCU on Dec. 28th!

How low I was in the driver's seat. I felt like an F-16 pilot ready for a dogfight:D! I was driving a New Beetle before I bought the Batmobile. I felt like I was driving a golf cart in that thing:silly!

Damn, Celica is the tallest car I've driven. I used to have a first gen RX7 and that thing has almost no ground clearance. I'd scrape all da time.

I remember my goal... have a car that IS and was MEANT to be fast. My secondary goal was to have a car that was unique vs a cookie cutter eclipse, 'stang, or civic.

This is the first vehicle I've had that has more than 2 seats since all I've had so far is 2 seaters, and a crotch rocket.

Okay, your comparing how high the celica is compared to an RX-7. Have you ever sat in a New Beetle before?

Pretty smart.

The only thing I remember is feeling sick knowing I'd be paying on this car for 5 years and knowing I'll get bored with it in 2. Oh well. :shocked

its actually kinda funny.. the first time i drove a celica I took it out after turning the car on approx 30 seconds later I ran her up to 6800 and hit fuel cut cuz the car wasnt warm enuf. obivuosly i have no clue what the hell that was about at the time and I was greatly disapointed in the fact that it was supposed to run higher and i didnt feel the power.. I pulled over and my feriend drove it.. ofcourse now the car is warmed up..he gets on it and takes off up to 8000 and im like whoa.. that was cool how did u do it..he looks nad smiles and says you just gotta know how to drive..haha right :)

ofcourse I thought it was cool when I hit the 2nd cam for the first time in my celica.. WOW.. that was nuts.. I had no clue what to expect..

I was surprise how low the car was to the ground. I had been driving my dad's Toyota truck so getting in the Celica for the first time was like sitting on the ground.

I see some of you guys are not breaking in your Celica's right.

i noticed how big the honk was on the steering wheel. at first, i thought it was only that little area with the toyota symbol. when i got home, i accidently leaned my arm against the steering wheel, and made a loud honk. didnt know that 70% of the area of the steering wheel was the honk, hehe.

other stuff that was appealing was the digital gas meter. i thought that was really sweet looking. even the new lexus gs doesnt have digital meters :)

Sh*t, I went to the dealer to drop off my 91 corolla for a tune up and walked out with paperwork for a celica. I first drove a Solara SLE V-6 but then it dawned on me that all the solara is, is a camry, so I test drove the celica, then came back for the corolla tune up, test drove the celi with my wife and bought the car.

Same deal with my wife's avalon, she went to the dealer, test drove one, and the same day ordered hers. We buy cars like that.....suddenly.:D

i had a 103 temperature..i could barely stand up. i have a photo of me leaning on the car. i almost walked out in black one but it got sold out from under us. we walked behind the dealership and there was my baby....exactly the way i wanted her....in my most favorite color...blue.

*tear rolls down cheek*

i couldn't even drive it home i was so sick. i tried to learn stick when i was too weak to push downt eh clutch pedal. i tried sleeping in it but started feeling nauseous so i had to go inside and throw up all night.
but oh god...that was the happiest day ever.

i skipped a week of school half for sickness...half just to drive it.

id wake up at 6...do all my work for the day in 3-4 hours
then go driving until it was dark outside.

ahh...memories :)

Nope I never have, I'd imagine it'd be like sitting in my mom's 85 cutlass supreme :) :) except without the whole couch :D
