Well I didn't race in my GT-S but my bros 00 Prelude with intake, header ex.I was at 55through the tunnel and I downshift into 4th to vibrate the tunnel and as soon as I got out the tunnel this black IS300 out of no where starts to come up on my ass real fast. Can't let that happen so I go wot at 3rd and I shift at little pass 7400 which is the redline on lude. At this time he already passed me about a car length. Man those IS got some torque. I think he dropped about 2 gears and you can see his ass trying smoke me real bad. At this point we were going about 100 still going wot and guesss what. the road is straint ahead for about good 4 miles. No kidding. It was 2 in the morning and nobody on the wide open straight away. We were neck and neck up to 130. The IS just didn't quit on me and I am not a quitter either. I rather die than lose a race like that so we keep on going wot and gradually here comes the turn. As I was taking that turn at that speeed I thought I was gonna die. All of a sudden I see IS loosing some traction and now I am thinking his gonna die. Well he slows down enough to make the turn and me I take the turn anyway slowing down just enough to avoid spin. Gotta love the Eibachs and roll bars. Well so the result is I won. But it was a hard fought battle and I earned it every bit of it.
One good lesson I learned from this race and the moral of story is Prelude is faster than IS.

Good kill. Its more like you had bigger balls than him and you had a better suspension setup to beat it on the turn.

:werd: Good kill. Could u tell if the IS had mods? A stock IS shouldn't be that difficult to beat. Was your brother in the car when you raced his car or does know about this race?

yea i kinda miss my lude too, it screams on interstate battles cause it was made to take high end speed. Good kill. I have raced a is300 b4, but the sc300 gave me a better battle on the freeway on my lude. still beat him though barely, we both top out at around 147mph down the freeway

Good story..don't you love that sillyass-adrenaline rush when you're praying to God to hold on to the asphalt going around corners at those speeds. It's good to hear you praising the Eibachs, I just ordered a set and hope to see a marked improvement over the stock springs.

my buddy has a 2000 prelude type sh and most prelude owners don't know that the rev limiter hits at 8100 rpm so most of the time prelude owners shift to soon just to let you know that..

I was wondering why nobody was flaming this guy for his ridiculous F&TF "I'd rather die than lose a random race on the freeway to an absolute stranger who I will probably never see again in my life" :whogives: attitude. Then I noticed how old the original post and responses were. I'd say the attitude on this site has changed a lot since then.

And for the better.
