tell me how after having an aem cai for over a year and with 58k miles on my celi that i'm just now getting a check engine light?!

it popped on going up over that hill on 680 going to the meet at DandB yesterday. I down shifted to speed up and pass the slow cars, and just barely hit lift and it popped on. I was like "WTF?!!" so i pulled off the freeway, and my car was running just like it always does, so i popped the hood.. looked around, everything looked fine, and i checked the oil which was fine.

So now what the hell do i do? that stupid little light is bugging the crap outta me, i'm kinda iffy on getting an SAFC, but how the hell else am i going to get rid of that light?

reset ecu? also try to get the cel checked out to see what code it is so then u can figure out whats going wrong... could be something as simple as a low voltage somewhere..

you guys use obdii? me and rich use logers to connect to our obd2 to read codes.. clear them.. and other lil things to see how our dsms are running..

i suggest you guys do the same if you can..

if not i think theres some places that read the code for you for free..

but it shouldnt be anything bad.. esp after youve been driving with the cai for a while i dont think that should be the case.. it might just be a fluke.. do a soft ecu reset to clear the code.. then drive around and see if it comes back on again anytime soon.. if not then shouldnt be a problem.. :shrugs:

No OBDII on my 1g DSM. It's a wierd 1g-only interface I think. :p

Jami, give the reset a try. It might be just a wierd shift in weather. Plus, El Nino is back. So the "little child" is probably playing havoc on your GT-S. Best of luck and let us know how it goes. ;)
