Im planning to have HKS power running by friday. Im ordering my engine Tomm, it will be here by tuesday. and it will take 1-1.5 day(s) to install it. im hoping with some luck, by friday i will have hks power back. Im looking at $1300 (maybe negotiable) for the engine, like 400-500 for the install. ($60 p/hr @8.5hrs TOPS)

Im going to have a Rolla assembled head and block, and my GT camshaft. using my header, and my intake manifold. Ill need a new gasket prolly, plugs, and an oil change. the dealer told me they'd help me out a little bit on the cost of the install....so hopefully i dont get screwed, and all goes to plan.

For his welcome home tour, i will be stopping by the car wash, imma have him detailed so he forgives me :chuckles: , and maybe the exhaust shop finally and get the exhaust changed. i figure since i am no longer debt free i may as well add insult to injury and splurge. We'll see.

I hope none of you ever have to go through this......

As for the S-afc. It will stay on for SPITE, im not going to run any settings on it.

So what did you ever end up doing? Did you get a Corolla or a GT engine? Good luck though, you are going to need it working with any dealership, I know that from my experiences with Toyota of Orlando (who still needs to replace my front bumper that they messed up).

Im buying a corolla engine. Ill most likely be selling some parts after wards. like a GT block, 1zz crank for anyone who wants to stroke a 2zz, a 1zz cams, corolla tubular intake manifold, corolla header. i dont see why i couldnt get a at least 400 bucks for that stuff to put towards my debt.

Good luck Adam, I read all your posts and Efren has been keeping me updated. I'm glad you got everything worked out though. So what is this Corolla engine gonna do for you? Also, 1,500 - 2,000 dollars in debt ain't that bad :)

Are you still up for helpin me with my S-AFC? Maybe we can install ours together when your car is up and running. Let me know bro.

R - I don't even know you mofo, but we go WAY back (4th gens). Racing is good in my book. It brings out the competitve nature and fuels the fire for improvement. I have always been a good sport when it comes to racing. I was brought up to always be sportsman like. I almost always shake hands with my opponent after the race and say "good race", regardless if I win or lose.

i know we go way back (gotta love the ST16x chassis!)... and i've been racing and messing with cars for years myself as well... but some people just can't handle the pressure... it's ok though, i now know who are the real "sports" around here...

Well i got bought the engine. total came out to $1325 shiped, and im not too proud of that. i guess its a great price seeing how the engine has 1,000 miles on it. so the paper work is going through today, its being palleted tomm, and shipped weds. the motor is in Ocechobee, fla. So HKS power should be running by saturday unless the dealer needs to order parts, i dont think they should, they should have gaskets and plugs and **** on hand

I rendered all services to HKS power. luckily they havent recived the engine yet. I called Ken waiting to here back from him, ken rules. I also spoke to FinishLine racing, they are kewl too, and really want to help me out. Finish line will charge me 1300 to pick up my car from toyota, pick up my motor, pick up my old motor. take the car to their shop install new motor, oil change, coolant flush, and spark plugs........it normally would cost 850 but they are 3 weeks backed up, and in order to squeeze me in they need to hire a temp tech to do all the labor. at this point in time 1300 for all that isnt looking too shabby, and they they are honest.

PS luna- 1300 for all this to be swapped over......850 under normal circumstance.............A tranny, ecu, harness and axles, is MAYBE, tops 1,000. and figure about 800 to install TOPS......for between 1600-1800 w/ labor you can have yourself a 5 spd....[end transmission]

Marc, a guy from Canada came down and did them for me. He did a tour of the US to do it. Apparently his trip was unsuccessful as he had a bunch of no shows and was losing money. I paid him 120 bucks to do everything, took him about three hours. That included, needles, temp/gas gauge, and center console lighting. He did mess up another guys car though, as a wire shorted. It was J3adseed (Chuck).

Marc, there's another guy named "hammer" who does this and you can ship it to him. Ask for him in the appearance forum and people should be able to direct you to get in touch with him. He apparently does an excellent job for this stuff.

im here....toyota worked out a new deal with me so i can keep my warrenty. and the labor fees cannot top 1200, and may be less as a matter of fact. i may have to take my s-afc out :( dont know. cause if this happens again, screw that, i dont want to think about that
