i got me stereo installed at best buy last night(last customer), but when i started driving it i could hear a buzzing noise everytime i stepped on the gas and it would get higher pitched with higher rpm's. another thing is everytime i press a button on the stereo it would make a "Pop"ing sound. and too much dam staic noise even while playing a CD. im gonna take it back so they can fix all the problems. so my question is...does anybody know what might be causing these things? wires to close? i dont know squat about electrical stuff.

Yeah, most likely thats a bad ground connection. You're hearing the rf interference created by your alternator.

i went back to best buy and they told me that my factory amp is messing me up and i should pay 90 dollars for them to bypass the amp. then i went to another best buy and they told its the amp " u have to by a new amp". so im stuck! i dont know what to do? im guessing there trying to screw me over by buying things i dont need.

If you have a GT-S then yes, you need to bypass the factory amp. I would bring that up with the installation manager at Best Buy since they should have known this in the first place instead of half assing the install then telling you after the fact that they needed to do additional work.

haha i work at best buy in car audio and you always have to sign off with the manager, and YOU yourself, the customer has to sign off on the work as well...its possible they didnt know but I have installed in many celica's and GTS's are known to have that problem. its like the data bus in the newer GM vechiles. im gonna give u IMO...get a new amp...thats most likely 90 percent the cause of the problem...i doubt its ground, if they didnt install a new amp...plus grounding something is simple...you WOULD think

bah, why bring it to a shop for them to half ass you and rip money outta your ass? just do it yourself and have the satisfactory that you did it yourself and know it was done right.

i dont know much about electronics, so i didnt wanna short circuit something or plug something in the wrong place, thats why i had them install it. i had them uninstall it and put it back to stock and im gonna get my money back. i spoke to one installer that works there(not the one who installed my head unit) and he said they should have asked me if i wanted them to bypass the amp before hand, which they didnt. and he told me that the head unit i bought was enough power for the meanwhile. he gave me a rough example....hooking up an amp to another amp will cause distortion...especially if its hooked up to stock amp and/or if not done properly.

wait... so you telling the guy that installed your hu used the hu amp to send signal to stock amp to power signals? does that work? anyway if oyu have aftermarket hu, just disconnect your stock amp. it doesn't put out enough power to match aftermarket hu anyway muchless an aftermarket amp. here go to this site and learn about basic audio. don't worry about the technical stuff, just learn the basic and oyu'll be able to do it yourself. most important read the FUSE page. http://www.eatel.net/~amptech/elecdisc/caraudio.htm
they have all the thing you'll need for basic installation.

If its installed already, just run 8 speaker wires from the back of the deck to the amp in the kick pannel. Disconnect the amp and wire those 8 wires to the appropriate wires on the harness
