welp, i was on my way home from a freinds birthday party. i go and get gas and im heading toward my house and the lil' hot rods are eveywhere. so im sticking with the slower traffic. as im driving along the slower traffic is turning and stuff so it just leaves me, a mini van, and a nissan 200sx se-r (newer body style 90's). we are all on one lane heading over 95 and the se-r jumps into the other lane to pass the mini van. i follow, and then the se-r cuts the mini van off and hit the red light. i pull up, not really to run, but it seems as if he is, cause his pulling slowly out ahead. when the light turns green he's got a car lenght start and seems to be pushing it. so i try to pull even with him and i notice that he's pushing it. well i push 1st all the way and i get to his door, shift to 2nd and tires slip alittle and im pulling ahead, get to the top of 2nd and touch the rev limiter and shift to 3rd and a old crapy car is up ahead with no tail lights in my lane. i look in the mirror and i have 3-4 cars between us so i jump over and slow it down. the guy(se-r) flips his lights off for a sec and i slow it down to 60 and cruz the rest of the way home. it look stock but lower'd. that's about it... :)

good kill, the SE-R only has 140hp (stock) so its more of a match for a Celica GT unless he's packin some extra mods (like me, heh)

I 've raced a 200sx se-r on the drag strip and bet him pretty heavily. Me a another celica raced a new 2002 SE_R they are ok in the mid range but have no top end after 80 left him like he let off, but he told us he didn't. I have a video of this race but have no idea how to post.

I've run a few GTS's on the street and when i had just cone filter/exhaust they would pull me badly in 3rd. Since then, I have added a 1991 se-r intake cam (better lift), a header, and advanced my timeing. I raced 3 different GTS's on the street and beat them all but I dont know if they poor drivers or Auto or what. I have been lookin forward to running one at the track. My car runs really consistent 14.7-14.8. If any of the Dallas area guys from this page wanna meet up and do some friendly runs that would be cool. PM me :)

Out of curiousity, how much does one run money-wise? Is the install direct bolt-in? ( I assume so since your car is a SR20)

yes, it is a "plug & play" swap. You can get the motors from Japan with ~30K miles on them for 1500-1700 bux on average. After that, it's a good idea to get the Jim Wolf ECU with the turbo program on it ~500 bux. The motors (Bluebird DET's) come with a topmount intercooler that some people prefer to route up to the front bumper, that's a little extra.

That is not bad at all. The price is right. You know any nice se-r forums or the like?
