ok, not really celica related because this is for a 92 Acura Legend.. but here goes:

My mom's car is having a steering problem lately. It occurs only at high speeds, maybe over 60ish or so. The car feels "floaty". When you react quickly, like changing lanes, the car turns into a boat and kind of sways back and forth. It never did this before. Even if you sit and jiggle the wheel it'll do it. I really don't trust the car at high speeds anymore. Especially coming from a razor-sharp celica.

Any ideas??

Could it be you just need some air in the tires? First thought.

make sure it is aligned properly and none of the swaybar links are damaged or broken. You might want to check the balljoints also.
