Not for racing but for just standing around in a parking lot talking about cars. There was about 40 cars that got busted. The cops say we where trespassing they pointed out the four little signs that where about a square foot in size and about 15 ft off the ground honestly not one of us noticed them. It's total bulls**t that there were cars drag racing right in front of them but they thought it was more illegal to stand beside our cars and talk about them. This town sucks there is nothing do in the first place but when you find something to do it's illegal. Hell its against the law to get a BJ in this state. I just needed to vent sorry guys:mad:

I was pulled over just two nights ago....My Story:

First the setting: I live in hicksville, North Georgia, no you've probably never heard of it. The cops here have very boring jobs as there is no real trouble to take care of. Scarcely are there any REAL criminals for them to pull their powertrips on. Redneck trucks with straight pipes drive around everywhere as well as junkmobiles with 2.5% tint and no on seems to care. The 80 mph minivan in a 45 zone......who cares? It's all politics and who you know here anyway. On to the point.

It's 10:15 p.m. and I'm coming home from my girlfriend's house down my usual route. I come around a corner that switches from a 55 to a 45 zone and i slow down appropriately. I look over to my right and notice a county sheriff car sitting in a usual spot at the Dollar General. I'm going the speed limit so i think nothing of him as i approach an upcoming redlight. I downshift to third and the engine revs, then to second and the revs come up once more as i slow to a stop. But before I fully stop the light turns green and I stay in second gear around the corner. I speed up to the 45 mph speedlimit until it becomes a 55 zone which I speed up to 60 (The first and only time over the speed limit). As I pass a car in the right lane I notice some headlights approaching my back rather quickly in my mirror. I thought it was either someone in a hurry or an ambulance. Then the blue lights flip on and I figure that he just needs by me to go catch someone robbing a liquor store or something. So I pull past the car on my right and into it's lane. Well the pig follows me so my first thought is, "What the Hell?" I pull over and turn off the car, flip on the dome light, roll the window down, and get my license and insurance cards out. In my side mirror I see a 250 lb bearded "protector of the people" approach my car.
"Whar yew tew in such ah hurray!?"
"I'm not in a hurry Sir."
"Nawt in a hurray?! How fast yew thank yew whar gowin?"
"At the max, 60 Sir." (Everyone I know has better luck with honesty)
"Yew know whut tha speedleemit is SON?"
"Yes Sir It's 55 right here."
"Yeah Right! Thees is a 45 zown SON"
"It's a 45 zone right here Sir?"
"Thats whut I sayd isunt it SON?!?!?"
"Yes Sir"
"Yew aint gowtta wurry bowt no differnce tween 55 and 60 yew are in a 45 zown. Awl yew gowtta wurry bout is the car yewr gownna slide intew when they pewl owt in frunt of ya!!!"(This is a 4 lane highway that is straight as an arrow by the way)
"I had no idea it was a 45 right here I've always thought it was a 55 Sir."
"Yeah thats whut yew thank innit SON"
"Please don't give me a ticket Sir I really had no idea--"
"Yew been drankin SON?!"
"No Sir I don't drink."
"I wuz wurried yew wuznt gownna make that light bak yar. I hurd yew gearin down and thought yew was gownna slide right threw it intew the traffik." (Yeah thats what you thought huh)
"I was just downshifting to help slow down in conjunction with the brakes Sir"
"Yew thank Im stewpid I know you whur racin your enjin."
"Please can I have just a warning Sir?"
"A warnin!!?!?!?! SON iffin anybody had dun pullt outta that rowd back yar you woulda dun been in tha seet with em SON!!"
"Sir I don't think--"
"Yew best be slowin it down yew racer boy SON"
At this point he turns and walks back to his patrol car and leaves. While all this had been going on another patrol car coming the opposite direction saw us and pulled a u-turn then took position in front of my car. Also, another porker pulled up behind the first guy who radioed him for help. So it took three grown men of the law to take down my 17 year old punk @$$. I then left and a few miles down the road I doubled back and checked the speed limit signs, yes it was 55, and yes I was pissed.

Needless to say I don't have very much respect for cops. At least the ones who are on a powertrip because they are jealous of nice cars, or just like to pick on people because they can. Many of them are good and do their job well, though some do take advantage of it any chance they get.

That's probably because it's against the law not to wear your seatbelt.

The cops are just jealous that they can't drive a cool car like a Celica :)

Though you're being sarcastic you're not far from the truth. It's not so much the car they're jealous of, but that people younger than them have it. As when they were younger they either had a yugo or none at all. So they feel they have a right to pull you over because it's not "fair" that they didn't have a nice car and you do.

I wasn't being sarcastic at all! The Celica looks like a hot freakin' car! The cop must have been thinking you were a drug dealer or something. Heck, if I was a cop and not that knowledgable about cars out there, I would think that Celica is one pricey car, and no kid should be driving it!

No doubt he thought I was some kind of trouble maker. His backup buddies were most likely looking through my windows for drugs with their flashlights. They then started looking at my underdash neons. I probably shoulda turned them off but at least someone got to see them right? :)

A cop at school rolled down his windows to tell me that I had a cool car once... my friend and I started laughing... I thanked him of course.

telling u man.. I never seen anybody got ticket for not having seatbelt on a camry or minivan..

It is against the law but cops don't really catch for just for not having seat belt, usually.....

Cops in my town just catch anybody with big mufflers and start finding something to blame after they catch the car..

something messed up..

Timmy-GTS how long you lived in Georgia all my friends have problems with cops around here. One of my friends was pulled over 3 times in the same county because they thought he was drunk and under age he had been at a bar that was busted to serving to minors when the first cop gave him the breath alizer he blew a .03 well below the limit then searched his car. The same thing happend 2 more times during his should have been 15 minute ride home.
I think that cops around here stereo type celica drivers. One of the only down falls of driving on.

2kgtx: I live in Chatsworth, just east of Dalton. Whenever I pass a parked patrol car they follow me around for a few minutes making sure I'm not doing anything. The red sports car just attracts attention. It's especially bad going through the small towns like White when I go to Atlanta.

I bought my 2000 GTS 6-speed used. The guy who owned it before me was a state trooper. He loved the car and only sold it because he needed a truck for a side buisness he was starting.

I would fight that, if the owners didnt call the police, the police cant really get you for trasspassing. Another thing you could do is get permission to hang out there. Get a singed letter for you and some of your buddys.
